So I flipped through, highlighting headings and saving them as notes so I could use my notes as links. Had to do this for two days. Today when I went to research the Fool card, forgetting that the TOC wasn't linked I opened it, scrolled down, tapped "The Fool" and read half the chapter before remembering the TOC hadn't worked the day before and I'd just slammed the book because of that... flipped back to the TOC and sure enough every card was listed and I could link to each through the TOC! So here I am revising my review...It's an excellent book, one of two by these authors, that provides the most understandable reference to the archetypes, symbols, associations and meanings to each card of Aleister Crowley's Thoth Tarot Deck. This particular volume provides quick reference with pertinent info in "easy to look up at a glance" charts. It also provides quick reference to divined meaning for pulling the cards in different types of topics, i.e. profession, relationship and even "card of the day" pulls. This volume is going to prove very useful to my continuing research into this heady house of cards... disregard the following unless you're just dying to see how mean I am when product's quality doesn't match it's price...I am very happy, in this case, to be proven wrong!OLD REVIEW:This review is for the Kindle Version. I would give it five stars for content, but since that content isn't easy found in the Kindle version I deducted 3 stars. And since it's horribly formatted and nearly $14 I'm deducting an extra star. At this premium price for a digital book the publisher should have done a top-notch job of copyfitting and formatting.The table of contents should be fully linked to the corresponding text and the images should be much larger instead of itty bitty thumbnails.This lousy piece of programming laziness cheapens a classic research reference and insults the hard work of talented authors. The publishers should hang their heads in shame for foisting this poor excuse of e-formatting before it was ready onto their computer savvy customers and changing high dollar for it...I feel so very cheated by this horrifically published e-book, the publisher should immediately fix the bugs and update it to all their paying customers!!! Luckily I have a hard copy so I know what a great work of authorship this is; otherwise I'd have blamed this piece of work on the authors. If I was one of the authors I'd be furious enough to sue the ebook publisher for defamation. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The single best Tarot divination book I've found - awesome!!! *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 9, 2011* This wonderful book really helped me get my Tarot reading on track. I feel the authors have achieved an olypmpic task in assigning remarkably clear and straight-forward meanings of each cards in the areas of : - general meaning - job/career - consciousness - relationships (partnership) - what it encourages - what it warns against - as a card for the dayAnd as far as spreads go, I generally just take a card or two to check the status of something (job etc), ask for what is ecouraged and what is warned against, plus I love the decision spread - that one has been incredible!Two things I feel are dynamite which aren't in the book:First step - I do the invocation of the great angel HERU before readings. (HERU is the Egyptian name while Horus is the Greek or Latin version). This invocation is from one version of the Thoth Tarot "little white book". Once invoked, you should actually feel that Horus is present and helping. Say this like your request reverberates through the heavens - though with humility and heart too. Say the names in capitals as if they have truly immense power - and linger on them. I just say the letter sounds - i.e.. EEEEE-AAAAAAH-OOOOOOOO and HHHHHHH-RRRRRRRRRR-UUUUUUUU. As a note, invocations seem to work better when you're not stuffed full of food and in a quiet place with perhaps a candle lit and some incense burning.----------------------------------------------------------------------I invoke thee, IAO, that thou wilt send HRU,The great Angel that is set over the operations of this secret Wisdom,To lay his hand invisibly upon these consecrated cards of art,That thereby we may obtain true knowledge of hidden thingsTo the glory of thine ineffable Name. Amen.----------------------------------------------------------------------Secondly, I would really recommend doing YES/NO questions for what is best in a given situation,as sometimes that's all that's required. For this, I assign "YES" to all even-numbered cards or female court cards (Princesses, Queens) and "NO" to all odd numbered cards and male court cards (Princes, Knights). Curiously there are quite a few negative odd-numbered cards which seems to help this (Futility, Debauch, Failure, Sorrow, Worry, Cruelty, Defeat, Disappointment, Prince of Swords). Exceptions are the Fool card (zero) which I take to be as "it's up to you", and I assign a big yes to Universe (21). Whatever system you come up with will be respected - as these really are fairly arbitrary.If like me you found your intial forays into Tarot reading difficult, this excellent book will really give your readings a wonderful and clear structure - and give you confidence for givings readings for friends too. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Everything I Need To Read the Thoth! *by R***E on Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2020* I have been reading Rider-Waite decks for awhile. I avoided this deck because of Crowley's reputation. I am finding the readings spot on on topics the Rider-Waite deck just has no words for. I think this deck is more balanced and has more to say. There is nothing Demonic about this deck, so dive in.If you have the deck, and want to check yourself and your reading of the cards, get this book. I tried reading other books. Thing is I don't care a wit about ceremonial magic or achieving Godhood or secret orders. But I do want to understand people and my life better and make better, more informed choices. So this book lets me quickly see if I am interpreting the cards right and dive right into doing readings. I loved this book.
