Dorman 65293 Rubber Differential Plug Compatible with Select Models

Perfect fit for my EZGO rxv golf cart rear axle plug. Mine was damaged during a ride and needed replacing, found out that through golf cart companies and specialty parts that it was going to be quite expensive for a factory replacement. After alittle research found that this plug may fit and figured it was well worth the risk given the price! Worked like a charm have used the cart a ton since then and have had zero issues.

1996 Jeep Cherokee XJ 4.0 plug for rear diff. Mone was leaking and this one was a great direct fit. No leaks since installed about 6 months ago. Excellent cheap fix.

Went to change the differential oil on my '99 Dodge Dakota SLT with the 5.2L and found the original plug was weathered and dry rotted. Not leaking, yet, but will be there soon. So on to the internet I went. I found this Dorman plug for a good price, well, cheap actually, and bought it. It fits just like the original did and sealed the differential nicely. We shall see how it ages. But all is good!

The rear electromagnetic actuator mechanism on my Jeep Wrangler JKU Rubicon (Dana 44) finally decided to to die. When they die, they still allow the diff to lock, but not to unlock. Adding an extra hole as shown in the images, well above the oil line and more in center to the electromagnet's locking plate make it super easy to unlock the diff with a screwdriver etc. When you're done trailing. (you can almost use your pinkie to do it). This saves me huge money in not needing to take the diff apart to replace the actuator until I need to service the bearings at a future date. The plug works really well and is very low profile. I used a stepper bit to drill the correct sized hole. Make sure you deburr your hole before assembly or you might cut the plug with sharp edges. I was thinking when I replace the actuator, I'll probably throw on a beefier cover plate but honestly now that I've used it a few times on the trail, I like the extra option to manually unlock quickly if I need to. Buy an extra one just in case. Oh, and start using LubeLocker gaskets instead of paste (watch out for knockoffs--they only have beads in one side). They're reusable and extremely convenient without the cure-time nonsense.

Price much better than auto stores. Fit my 99 Ram 9 1/4 rear differential as it should. No leak.
