Maximum runs around 200 to 250 feet.** A: I would advise against it, as this particular product is CCA wiring. That means copper clad aluminum. It is not solid copper. That means degraded performance and not true Cat5e. This is especially a problem as you get closer to the range limit of true Cat5e (100M or 328ft). I would look for Cat5e that is advertised as solid copper and UL Verified for professional use (Using CCA in a commercial setting would be considered highly unprofessional). If you are using this for your home, it is your choice but I still don't recommend it.I would also like to add if you still really, really want to use CCA you can find it cheaper than this (about $40). We use this cabling not only for Cat-5e Connections, and remote Repeaters on our Ranch, but I have even used this cable to run Streaming Security Video Camera Signals back a Quarter of a Mile from our Automatic Gates to the DVR Systems here in the house.. not so much as a flicker, and even the Hot SC sun didn't damage it.. at some point, it "Buried itself"... which was an unexpected benefit! ;)UPDATE: 19 May 2016... We had a failure with two cameras mounted HIGH on the Cupola on top of the house (Exposed to the weather). I climbed up there on the outside of the house multiple times trying to find bad connections (Other Cameras wouldn't work on those lines either). I checked everything inside the house where the BNC connectors connected to the DVR... Nothing. I decided to replace those runs of cable while adding "Screw Tightening Video Baluns" ("VIMVIP® 6 PAIRS (12 Pcs) Mini CCTV BNC Video Balun Transceiver Cable") and "Screw Tightening Power Connectors" ("Maxmoral 12 Pair (12 x Male + 12 x Female) DC Power Jack 5.5mm x 2.1mm CCTV Power Jack Adapter") (BOTH of which are AWESOME products themselves! Buy LOTS of them, they are cheap!) But when I cut open the Heat Shrink Tubing Behind the Security System's DVR inside the house, Nasty water POURED out from the INSIDE of the cable, and I found that the Wire Pairs were ALL corroded and broken! Water had infiltrated into the inside of the Cat-5's Outer Sheath (despite the Heat-Shrink Tubing at the soldered wiring at the Cameras on top of the house) and Siphoned down inside the Sheath about 100 feet and right up through the flooring and to the back of the DVR! This IS NOT A FAULT WITH THE CABLING! I "Thought" I had sealed the connections outside to be water-tight, but obviously I had not. Since the Wiring starts HIGH on the house, the water was able to go down the inside of the cabling to the basement, and then all the way back UP through the floor of our security center, and on up to the DVR which sits high on a Wall Shelf. I now use a "Sealing Gel" on ALL outside connections, which stopped the Cabling's WELL SEALED Outer Sheath from acting as a Siphon hose :) STILL an EXCELLENT product, and with the Video Baluns (Mentioned above), I can now run 4 cameras per Cat-5 Cable (With a separate Heavy Power Cable for 12VDC), up to a half mile with PERFECT High-Def Clarity! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Buy *by on Reviewed in the United States October 31, 2012* Every once in a while you find a product that's worthy of the time you spend writing a recommendation.This cable works well for it's intended use. The cable has tough outer layer that seems good enough for a slit trench. Installing the fittings was a breeze. I have not had a single failure in the 30 or so runs that I have made so far. I have used about 300' of cable so far. I will admit that this cable is very stiff, mostly due to the protective outer cladding.I was hesitant about using copper clad aluminum as I've seen some people have had issues with it. I have one run of about 100' going from my main office to my server rack in the garage. I have transferred about 6TB of data over this line at full gigabit speeds, I haven't had any problems whatsoever. I would recommend this cable to anyone needing it. I would also recommend that you route this under the house or in conduit.
