Q: Can I prime 44.40 brass with this? (Large rifle primers)

This Frankford Arsenal kit doesn’t come with a shell holder for 44-40. However, I’ve just checked and Lee Auto-prime shellholders DO fit the Arsenal priming tool. So a Lee size 14 auto prime shell holder should fit, which you may have at hand anyway. Please note I don’t load for 44-40 myself, so I haven’t proven my response, but I can’t think why it should be wrong. The Arsenal priming tool is well engineered and I’ve been happy with it. The only thing I’ve adjusted is to remove some plastic from the edges of the plastic clips that hold the lid of the primer tray on; they seem to wrap around the tray too much and will snap with use, like the old Lee ones did. Hope this helps!

Fantastic quality and well made.

Got this because i was getting annoyed with the poor function of my Lee hand primmer. This one is better but still has the occasional miss feed/fail to feed like the Lee one it replaced but not as often.
