Cute but takes some finesse
I love it, its a beautiful piece. I'm still learning how to use it. Pretty easy to pack up too.

Beautiful and capacious gaiwan.
I was surprised to discover this gaiwan is slightly bigger than my other two. Those are probably closer to 100mL. The extra volume gives me a bit more wiggle room when serving tea to guests, which I appreciate. It pours reasonably well, but gaiwans tend to. But also, the glaze on the ceramic is just stunning. Maybe I just like cobalt blue.

Gets the job done
Came well packaged when shipped, if you're worried about receiving a broken/damaged product. The gaiwan itself looks very beautiful, it's got a really nice deep rich blue color in person. Not a big fan of the design, but it's nothing that isn't already shown in the images so I was expecting it. The build quality seems alright. Personally, I wish it was a big thicker to give it a sturdier feel, but the thinness does make it lighter and possibly easier to handle. I was worried that I would be more prone to burning myself due to the thinness, but that hasn't been a problem. I've been able to handle this gaiwan just fine. I'm not sure whether this design is intentional across gaiwans, but I've noticed this doesn't happen with my other gaiwans: the lid does not completely seal when laid flat onto the gaiwan. You can actually see this occuring in the image advertised, there's a slight gap on the left and right. Personally, I'd prefer if it formed a complete seal in this position (again, not sure if this is an intentional or common design for gaiwans) as it would give me more control over what aperture I'm working with. It's also worth mentioning that this gap occurs only in certain areas of the lid, making it a little more difficult to control the aperture if you're just grabbing it. I'm more likely to get a few stray leafs into my pours. All in all, not a bad product for the price.

A Nice Gaiwan
Nice, well made Gaiwan. Lid fits well. Comfortable in hand and pours well. Walls a bit thicker than most so preheat before use. Should help hold brewing temps better than its thinner walled cousins.

It is pretty but overall it is a disappointment
The cup set is pretty, sturdy, and easy to clean. However, the lid is too small and therefore sits very low in the cup. It makes it impossible to get a decent amount of tea if you use the lid for steeping. It also means the lid is ineffective as a means to hold back tea leaves. I own several of these Chinese tea cup sets and all the lids are made to sit a little higher.

Exactly as pictured
I did not see this one when I first ordered my other Gaiwan cups. Love the deep Sapphire/Royal Blue and the frosted looking Bamboo. With the White inside it is very pleasing to the eye. Haven't used it yet. just arrived today, but if like other cups, no issues or problems.

Very thick
So, my understanding of fine porcelain is that it is very thin and delicate. This, however, is quite thick and clunky, leading me to believe it is probably not high standard at all. My experience with a high number of tea masters is thin, not thick, gaiwans, so suspect this is true. That said, living now in winter in cool California and not bothering much with heat, I have to make a real effort to keep my tea ware hot during brewing sessions, and the thickness might retain heat better and be an advantage. At any rate, if you're looking for the delicate feel of any traditional gongfu Chinese tea sessions you might have experienced, look elsewhere

Very Nice!
This gaiwan is very nice, the color is deep and the quality of the porcelain seems very good.
