This is the exact book I need! I just received it yesterday and am already half way through it. Lisa's style of writing just speaks so eloquently to my heart. It is as if she is writing my story. Her first book, "The Road Back to Me" was also one I couldn't put down. I read the whole book in one day. I have felt so fortunate to have found Lisa's work on YouTube. Since finding it on Feb. 1, 2016, I have been binging on them daily (some days up to 10 videos a day). I have been seeking and searching high and low to find out what my problems stemmed from, why I felt so stifled and unheard?Why was I never quite good enough for anyone? Thankfully my prayers and pleas were heard and I landed on Lisa A. Romano's YouTube videos. I can honestly say my life is taking an incredible change. My brain is literally being rewired. SOMEBODY finally understands me. I am not crazy after all, I am codependent. WOW, who knew? Lisa knows and I thank God (Source) for leading me to her site and her books and workshops.If you feel unheard, invisible, not worthy, or good enough, you NEED to read this book!!! The answers and tools she provides are literally priceless! I AM forever grateful for her work. Her work NEEDS to be available worldwide! There are so many of us on this planet that learned to smile on cue, tell others "I'm fine" all the while we are dying on the inside! It's not our fault, it's our childhood programming! I’m learning and growing and this book was extremely helpful. Just when you think you have everything figured out life hits you upside the head with the truth!You can’t unknow what you know. Once you have been awakened and are aware of the fact that, yes you were programmed by the experiences of your childhood and they absolutely and undeniably affected you to your soul/core! If those experiences were negative, dysfunctional and abusive, then your sense of self is damaged and your worth becomes questioned by self.The truth is this. I am Enough, I have always been Enough and I will always be Enough. I need to make a t-shirt with these words! I’m learning to own my truth and your book and your work has been massively helpful on my journey.Thank you for sharing your truth Lisa. <3

It was an easy read besides it bringing up some not so fun emotions of relating to the circumstances of the author. But I was hoping of more of tips and ways to get through the divorce. More clinical advices. I don’t feel as crazy of the things that I have put up with through my marriage. Currently separated and preparing for my own divorce.

Found out how truly codependent I was an am. Stemming from my childhood with a raging unpredictable practicing alcoholic father who got sober when I was 12 then cheated and my mother divorced him. I feel like I was Max lost and confused wish my mother would have had this book through that time or these principles. Sh did the best she could l. I now have a daughter who is experiencing divorce at 2 mostly becasue my stbx and I were codependents bouncing off one another. I am adamant to break the cycle and know I can with Lisa's story.

This book reveals courageous truths that most would keep untold. The kind of truth that is deep down and dirty. I like this book because I feel understood in the deepest parts of my being. Surviving during and after abuse this book is written by someone who has captured the words and essence of hope for recoveries of the devastation the toll emotional abuse leaves on humanity's soul. There is hope. There is love. There is work to be done. The author illustrated that she knows deep levels of pain and sorrow and fear and anger and cognitive dissonances. I believe this book captures authenticity,-getting REAL to HEAL! THANK YOU FOR writing this book

I love her books and her honesty in sharing her story. An inspiration for all who are codependent and healing from those wounds.

Excellent author with exceptional You Tube videos. I heard about the book from her you tube channel. "Dear ones..." is how she addresses her listeners. She has an understanding and empathy in her explanations because she lived this. It lets us know we're not alone in our experiences with being manipulated. Any woman who has been, or is currently in, an overtly or covertly controlling manipulative marriage should read this. It gives hope and a sense that you can survive and thrive, learning to love yourself.

In an easy to absorb, conversational style, Lisa tells it like it is for codependent survivors of narcissistic abuse. Her story is a how to guide for putting the oxygen mask on yourself before helping others even as the plane is crashing. She shines light into the hell that is escaping family violence, as she generously maps the intergenerational traumas that construct such a scenario. Thank you from my heart!

Im a fan of Lisa via her you tube channel, after 9yrs of abuse this book has really inspired me and helped me understand myself better and why I've struggled to not put myself first. If it wasn't for her i would not off seen the relationship for what it truly was and pull myself out, realising i am enough and i deserve the life i want for myself. Namaste.

I am a recovering co-dependent and this book describes exactly the feelings, the highs and lows of recovering - of creating the life you deserve to lead. Most importantly this book gives hope that there is healing available for all co-dependents. Would definitively recommend.

Amazing book! If you are codependent from the page one you will feel the author knows you better than anyone else in this world. Even if you are not a diagnosed codependant you will learn so much how to live happier, healthier life and learn ways to free self expression. Lisa's books for me personally were the most eye opening and life changing . .
