I've tried so many that I doubted I'd truly find the right pillow. This is the first one that truly comfortably conforms to my neck & head, while supporting both with the perfect amount of support, never leaving my neck sore or me with a "wake up headache." Another plus is one side contains a "cool" gel side so I never feel warm & I can really feel the difference, even through the encasing plus the pillow cover that comes with the pillow (all washable & super hygienic. BTW). If one prefers a warmer feel, the other side has a "warmer" gel. I've always preferred 2 pillows & no exception here, although I can comfortably sleep with one, which I can't with any other pillow. So, you get firm support for your head & neck that won't cause any discomfort or pain, yet you feel as if you're sleeping on an exceptionally comfortable pillow which does not "heat up," you can comfortably read in bed due to the support this pillow offers, you can lay on your back, sides or stomach & this pillow works in each position comfortably. I'm an RN with major back issues & this pilow has helped me sleep much more comfortably. I love this pillow so much that I went searching for what else this company makes...& voila! However, after being in an accident I have severe neck and back issues. I have used a pillow cube that is 4" in height. It is just a tad too short. This pillow states that it is 4.7" in height. Please be aware that is not the case. My pillow cube is taller. This matters to side sleepers in particular as if you are not in alignment it causes your shoulders and neck to hurt. I like that this pillow is cooling as it has been great in the summer, but i am stacking some of my flat throw pillows underneath it which is not ideal.
