Melissa & Doug Wooden Farm Train Set - Classic Wooden Toy (3 Linking Cars)

This set is wonderful! Very well made, bright and colorful, and lots of different ways to play. We bought this to go with some other Melissa and Doug wooden toys and my toddler reaches for this set the most. It's just really cute and it's fun to take everything out and put it back in and drag the whole train around the room. This set is bigger than other train sets I have purchased, which is nice. It does not fit on typical toy train tracks, though. Overall, I highly recommend this cute set.

I bought this for my son's 2nd birthday. For his first birthday, he got the Melissa & Doug Stacking Train and played with it every day until he was 20 months old. He still likes trains, though we've shielded him from Thomas and other licensed products. This train is a GREAT TOY. He enjoys loading up the cargo and changing the order of the cars. He can do it easily by himself, and it is a logical progression from the first train toy we bought. I am very happy with our purchase and thing that for the price, it is a great value. I would have spent more if there was a Plan or Haba toy of similar description, but there wasn't, so this is great! It is a bit larger than I expected, and it is a great train for a gift.

There was not a thing you could say wrong about this toy. It is made very well and it’s fine quality wood! It has been through a lot in the past couple months and it is easy to clean and I would recommend it to any Mom!

This train is amazing! Great simple design that's good for imaginative play. I could see a 1-yr old loving it, but my 3-year old plays with his every day. It's easy to connect the train cars, and there are enough pieces to make it interesting, but not so many that you go crazy looking for them. It's also BIG! This is a stand-alone toy, not a little train that goes on Thomas-sized train tracks. My son pulls it all over the house--it can go anywhere. Seems very sturdy and well made. Get it!! You'll love it!!

My 2 year old son loves Melissa and Doug toys, but the train is definitely his favorite. I love the simplicity of these toys, not needing batteries, and are well made.

First of all I love Melissa and Doug toys. I bought this for my grandson's 2nd birthday and he loves it. He has no trouble putting the cars together and interchanges the pieces that go in the cars. He also likes to play with the pieces like blocks stacking them in different ways. This is what I especially like about Melissa and Doug toys, the child can use his or hers imagination. There is an engine and three cars, a cow, 2 milk cans, and 4 blocks showing veggies and fruit. All the basic colors are used so these can be talked about as well as counting the different items. Great toy and worth every penny.

This train is pretty sweet. I honestly read most of the one-star reviews, and a few of five-star reviews. I feel for my experience, a four-star review is accurate. The train came late, however, Amazon took care of it. I am pretty sure Fed Ex just didn't deliver it, although they did deliver it the next day. This was at first a HUGE problem because my son's birthday was the day it was supposed to be delivered on or before. Not an issue anymore. The product is fantastic. My son loves it. It's not made of cheap plastic, it's more of a one-of-a-kind product, hand-crafted. I am not sure who likes the toy more, me or my son. He enjoys it when I tie fishing line around the engine and pull the train and its cargo across the floor. Definitely a nice product. Very classic train type toy. If you like trains and you like toys and you have a kid or you don't, this product is for you. Love the little cargo that it comes with too, the cow is hilarious.

I bought this train for my 4 year old son for Christmas. He wanted a train set, and my mother bought him a nice wooden one to play with. This train is larger and includes the 4 cars and several play pieces. He plays with this more than the train set my mom gave him. He scoots this along the floor while i cook or watch TV. It's very durable and sturdy, like all of the Melissa and Doug toys, and the quality is excellant. I am very pleased with this purchase.

It's good quality, wooden basically so no more cheap Chinese plastics..my kid broke so many of those cheap plastic ones, this one is strong and having good connections between boggies..paint quality is good, washable. It doesn't run on batteries, a plus.

These are fun and you can play with them in so many different way - they are durable and the kind of open-ended play that keeps kids busy for a long time
