The author, Hiroshi Doi, is a Japanese Reiki Master who is a member of the Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai, the original association started by the founder of Usui Reiki, Usui Sensei. The first four presidents of the Gakkai after Usui Sensei were trained by him and the last of the four was president through 1975, making the training and information taught to Gakkai members and contained in their archives the most authentic available today. Since the Gakkai is a closed association in which it is difficult even for Japanese Reiki students to become members, we are fortunate that this author has permission to pass this sacred information on to the public.Iyashi Gendai Reiki-ho was the first book written by a Japanese Reiki Master that was translated and published in English. However, it had been out of print for many years. The current publisher, who is also a Reiki Master, worked closely with the author, updating the text to include many important facts from the Gakkai archives that were not in the first edition and also carefully refining the translation so that the esoteric concepts would be more comprehensible to the Western mind. This is an important book that preserves the original concepts and methods taught by Usui Sensei while at the same time offering a practical system of Reiki for modern times. Review: Essential Insights from Japanese Reiki that are often missing in the West - This is one of the most comprehensive Reiki books out there. It reveals the perspective that Reiki is not only a healing art, but also a profound path of spiritual development. Included in this book is a detailed history of Reiki, discussion of the differences between Western and Japanese Reiki, description of Reiki training and the use of the four symbols, as well as an extended instruction in how to use Reiki as a spiritual practice. This is a major difference between Western and Japanese Reiki: in Japanese Reiki it is acknowledged that one's ability to transmit and be transformed by Reiki happens over time through consistent practice. After practicing Reiki for over 20 years myself, I can attest that this is indeed the case. I highly recommend this book for every Reiki practitioner and teacher. Review: Highly recommend! - I’m currently learning Reiki and this was the first book recommended by my teacher. I’ve only taken Reiki 1 so far so I’ve only read as far as what I learned in class, but I take Reiki 2 this month so then I will continue on through that section. All in all it’s a great, easy to understand book for Reiki students and really helps you absorb the information that you might need to review again once your class is over and you are studying/practicing on your own. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | #808,667 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) #296 in New Age Reference (Books) | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 175 Reviews | ## Images ![A Modern Reiki Method for Healing - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51VvfDS-KeL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Essential Insights from Japanese Reiki that are often missing in the West *by K***R on July 31, 2017* This is one of the most comprehensive Reiki books out there. But Reiki can only be a transitional stage and not the final truth. I myself am a trained Reiki master in western style and a teacher in Japanese Reiki (here it should be clear that Life is the only true master and teacher). I realized that Reiki is just a help, a crutch that you have to let go of at the right time. If you are interested in enlightenment or awakening from the illusion of separation, I can recommend Dirk Hessel's book 'Awaken to Life'. This author has realized what he is writing about and goes far beyond the knowledge of all Reiki techniques. He popped up recently, and for me he is 'the new Eckhart Tolle' combined with the radical depth of Nisargadatta. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.kr/products/12664841-a-modern-reiki-method-for-healing](https://www.desertcart.kr/products/12664841-a-modern-reiki-method-for-healing) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Korea* *Store origin: KR* *Last updated: 2026-11-08*
