100293 Replacement Ceramic Insulation Tape for MakerBot Replicator 2 3D Printer (Pack of 6)

Seems to do a good job of insulating the heating block. My heater's temperature is much more stable and holds its temperature better than the insulator that came with the stock heating block. In addition to this insulation I wrapped the two other exposed sides of the heater block with kapton tap to prevent heat leakage.

Don't get me wrong, this product is nice, way more ceramic cloth than normal.Unfortunately this is part of the problem; the cloth is thick and the hole is large enough to screw in the nozzle on my MK8 extruder but not large enough to fit around the nozzle which offsets the extruder quite a bit. This isn't a big issue unless you have a dual extruder like me, as it is I can't use my left extruder unless I replace the existing insulation.The other downside is that it's really hard to install. I wasted 3 of these trying to get it put on and I had to disassemble by extruder until I was able to take off my heating block. Still, it took quite a bit of finesse to install this properly.I will probably buy more of these in the future unless I find somebody selling some that fit a bit better.:EDIT:After a couple months of use the tape dried up, crumbled, and just completely came apart leaving cloth all over my print bed. On my other hot end the tape and cloth the machine came with are still great. Avoid this product.

Works great, I have ordered it before. The only design change I would make for easier installation is to add a tape piece that you could use to hold the split ends over the edge of the block while installing.Works fine without that but installation would be easier for those of us with big fingers if that was an option in the bag.
