I have been using a propane heater that costs me about $1.25 per hour. So yes, it is probably cheaper, however, as others have stated, it really depends on what electricity costs per kWh where you live. Multiply your cost per kWh by 7.5 and you will get your answer. FYI, kerosene costs about the same as propane, and diesel costs around $0.86 per hour at $5.00 per gallon.
