It's extremely simple to set up and use. It heats up quickly. The greatest feature is that it takes sheets from the very smallest to the large poster size, as well as a variety of pouch thicknesses (3 MIL, 5 MIL, etc.) I maintain a velcro display board for our church's outreach events. I recently printed multiple clip art designs, ran them through the machine in various sized laminating pouches, cut them out and used them on the velcro board for accents. I also did the same with event photos before displaying them. Thinking it might work like the Minc foiler without having to buy that also.** A: It might work, but according to my experience , if you want to get a better foil stamping result, it would be better to buy Minc foiler. Foil stamping is affected by temperature, speeding, pressure..etc. The normal laminators are designed for the thermal laminating pouches, not for the stamping foils. Different material requires different temperature, pressure and other conditions. Besides, Minc foiler has 4 rollers inside, while Fellowes only has 2 rollers. And I also guess Minc foiler is designed specially for its own brand stamping foil. So, if you do not have a high requirement on the foil stamping effect, just want to get a cheaper model . You may try this fellowes laminator. Otherwise , i advise you to buy MInc. foil applicator **Q: Does this unit require the use of a carrier sheet for the thermal pouches?** A: No it does not. The tolerance of the roller positions seems rather precise (you set it to the thickness of the laminate you are using), so that a carrier sheet would add extra thickness and have to be adjusted for. They do ask you to run a cleaning sheet (provided) through after several uses to pick up any stray bits of glue that might have stuck to the rollers. It seems just like a regular piece of paper to me, but maybe there is something special about it. **Q: how long does it takes take to laminate a paper ?** A: The Saturn3i laminates at a speed of 12" per minute per the mfg. Thats relatively slow. I'm very pleased. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So far, great! *by T***C on July 20, 2024* I bought this machine (Saturn 3i 125) to replace a 14 year old other brand that finally gave out. I had originally ordered one of that same brand, but it had some issues-loud noise and wrinkles. Ordered a replacement of the same make and model and that one, too, had the same wrinkling issue! I decided on this Laminator and it has so far produced results that I have come to expect from a quality machine. It heats up very quickly, is quiet, produces perfect laminations, and is easy to feed. If I was to nit pick, the only thing I could suggest is a slightly longer out feed rack.
