Worked for us, and saved the cost of a lawyer!
Our situation was fairly straightforward, as far as these things go. Nonetheless, we found the book super useful. We read it carefully, followed exactly what it said, and everything worked and now my wife is approved for her green card, and only 10 weeks after our marriage!I don't want to make it sound too easy. There was a lot of leg work involved in the process-- we had a two-inch thick stack of paperwork before all was said and done. But if you don't mind a little challenge and if you are willing to put the time, effort and organization in, this book will guide you all the way through the process. The book highlights some things on the forms that we would have overlooked or gotten wrong. It also provided good guidance about what to bring to the interview and what to expect.I originally felt strongly that we should get a lawyer, but my wife thought we could do it ourselves. We compromised by getting this book, and I couldn't have been happier with the result. I have been told that a lawyer would have cost around $3,000, so in that respect the book is a steal! We already recommended this book to a close international couple friend. Regardless of what you decide, best of luck on your own application!

this is the "bible" you need if you want to get a marraige immigration visa
the absolute bible for anyone trying to do the immigration visa route. Immigration lawyers extremely expensive and mostly unavailable for the vital information needed to do the visa process. very very few gaps of information which tend to be corrected in succeeding editions. these visas take up to 2 years to get but you really cant do it without this book as I can personally testify after recently completing the visa process. There is not another book out there which is as complete and understandable as this one

Awesome Book!
My fiance and I are getting married next summer (2014). She is Canadian and I am American. We have a lot of friends who did international marriages and then had to spend their first six or more months of marriage apart. This book spelled out all of the options available to us in a clear and concise manner, and then walked us through the steps as well. The only downside is I bought the Kindle Edition, and it's kind of hard to see the forms. It isn't worth the money you save to buy this book on Kindle, unless perhaps you have a Fire or can use it on another device with a larger screen/zoom capabilities. Other than that this book is awesome!

So Far So Good
I would just like to say that both my self & my future American Fiance have found the book very informative. It is great how the law is broken down so that mere mortals are able to come to grips with the immense amount of paperwork that has to be filled in & that the legal gargon is explained. It was also good to actually see the forms & how they expect the applicants to fill them out to avoid unnecessary time delays by forms being returned to be be completed correctly. So all in all we have found the book very helpful & may in fact save us the need for a Lawyer, so money very well spent. Using Amazon got me the book at a great price & was received 12 days after ordering so great service as well.

You can do everything yourself!
This book is a very good guide for Americans with a fiancé(é) abroad. With this book you can do all the immigration yourself. It;s very detailed and informative. I am currently in the adjustment of status process and received my employment authorization card. Even though i still have a long way to go before I'm done with all the paperwork, this book made it a lot easier to get through all the paperwork. I got things done in a minimal amount of time, cause I knew what to do and what papers to get. I can recommend it to everyone (but be sure to get the most recent one, not sure if there already is another). It was a lot of help to me.

Very helpful book!
I think, it is very detailed guidance, with explanations how to fill out the forms, with analysis of typical real situations, and helpful advices. Before buying the book, I send my Petition for Fiancee visa using online service of a company (Immigration Direct). Compared to that service, this book is clearly advantageous. First, it is a huge difference in price, since the company charged me for about $300 only for that step; I guess for each further step (filling out the forms for status adjustment etc... ) they will be charging similarly. Second, this book contains much more details and explanations than the company service... The book is written in a simple language and very easy and enjoyable to read... I recommend it!

Gay Marriage
This book helped me and my husband get our permanent resident card. We are a recently married gay couple. I wanted to do my own research without hiring a lawyer, so it worked with our situation. The book is very clear in its layout of case-by-case basis scenarios. I would recommend to anyone interested in this area. I felt like I could be an immigration attorney at the end of it!I was proud to do this myself with the help of this book and other online resources.

Basic
You can definitely find more info on internet than in this book. It’s just basic stuff here. But definitely for last updates it’s better to check on internet.
