I've been using this to vacuum weekly for a couple months now on heavy dog hair and dog biscuit and bone shrapnel on low and medium pile carpeting and hard floor. I used it with an adapter attachment for a full sized shop vac hose that fits both the shop that goes and this vacuum head nozzle. It works great, very powerful, great cleaning! Sturdy. Not flimsy. Read on...First time use out of the box it was really spinning and picking up everything until it wasn't when it basically stopped spinning... but WAIT...hear me out...I unscrewed the bottom and it's not a super simple task but it's not a hard one either at least it wasn't for me and I'm not that skilled at things like this.I cleaned out all the clogged dog hair and the brush really well, then I got my son's spray grease out of the garage and sprayed everything that touched other parts while they moved EXCEPT THE DRIVE BELT AND THE PARTS IT TOUCHED. The wheels, the gears, the brush rod ends where they connect and fit with the housing, everything that touches something while it moves EXCEPT THE DRIVE BELT AND THE PARTS IT TOUCHED. Then I put it all back together and it was amazing! I love the sound it makes when it wurrs super fast... Zoooom sound... Not having been able to vacuum because of my back I now feel empowered!!!If you use it on a regular house vacuum or a small shop vac it will not spin very well UNLESS it's well greased. If it is used with a larger shop vac (you will need an adapter that fits the vacuum head and the size of the hose of your larger shop vac) if you do not grease it it will run very fast until it heats up and either melts together or melts apart or the dry parts are just scratching against one another so hard that it stops or breaks because it will be dry plastic against dry plastic...SO... whether you take it apart or not, IT'S GOING TO NEED SOME GREASE as best you can on the parts like the brush rod ends where it meets the edges of the housing and it's fittings and in the back where the little door opens.. inside the air flow wheel.. needs its connecting parts greased. It's better if you are intermediately or more mechanically inclined enough to take it apart being mindful and careful of where all the parts go. You can draw yourself a diagram or draw or take pictures or a list to help yourself know where things go back again. You'll need a little bit of dexterity if you plan to take it apart. Maybe enlist a helper. It does a super job with my large shop vac and a decent job with my small shop vac and my house vacuum.THE -MANUFACTURER- SHOULD HAVE GREASED ALL OF ITS PARTS PRIOR TO SHIPMENT OR AT THE VERY LEAST INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS AND DIAGRAMS OF HOW TO TAKE IT APART WITH SOME COURTESY GREASE INCLUDED.THE SELLER IS GREAT. NO PROBLEMS THERE.I think for the price range and availability of this sort of item the price this seller is asking is very good for what you get. It's sturdy and it fit my small shop vac and house vacuum nicely. I only have to run the house vacuum which is a good quality vacuum over my carpets once every 3 or 4 weeks and I use this lightweight vacuum head attached to the hose of either my house vacuum or my little shop vac two to three times a week because my back injury insists that I do house cleaning strategically or suffer it's wrath.Would I buy another? ABSOLUTELY! I'm planning to get one for dedicated use with my big shop so I can vacuum my PATIO and GARAGE. It doesn't have a big suction hole for things like leaves and sticks to go through but it'll definitely pick up the smaller stuff so that I don't have to use a broom or hose the whole thing off with the garden hose.If you're completely unwilling to apply grease as I've described above and you still expect this suction propelled vacuum head to perform perfectly you probably ought not to buy it. You probably ought to stick with a regular house vacuum. But if you're willing to MAINTAIN this nifty little unit GREASING IT WHEN YOU GET IT/BEFORE YOU USE IT OR AT LEAST SOON AFTER and whenever it needs unclogging or clean the roller brush or replenish the grease, then I would say definitely get yourself one!I always take good care of all my things and I don't mind maintenancing them. I look up videos and websites on how to take care of them and I'm used to it. So it's not a burden to me. I don't like using something until it's destroyed because it wasn't cared for properly and filling landfills full of stuff that only needed simple maintenance.I do miss the old school electric powered vacuum heads but since those are in the hundreds of dollars nowadays and this does a nice job I'm very happy with it.

Just awful
I have a powerful Cannister Vacuum. Have another older Turbo Brush that worked well. This one hardly spins at all. Do Not Buy at all. I think part of the issue is where the Air Phin Wheel that catches the suctioned air and then spins the brush...there is a little pop out door opening put there for cleaning, it looks like. That is probably leaking suctioned air which reduces the performance. Poorly designed. I have a 14 amp cannister vacuum which is very powerful. Is this designed to only spin correctly when connected to a jet airplane engine?? This should be tested and these people selling this have to know it is not good.

not for medium pile carpets
The vacuum head does ok on thicker carpets. but seems to work better on very low pile carpets. if you have medium pile carpets or thicker then dont buy it. we run central vacuum and with all that power the thing just won't keep turning. if you have mainly low pile carpets then I'd say it'd be worth getting.

A great floor cleaning solution at a great price! *** Updated 5/17/2017***
I have been looking for something like this to be used with my canister vacuum for a long time. The floor pieces that come with the vacuum are pretty useless. This on the other hand is just the right width and doesn't clog up on larger dirt chunks like the smaller 4 inch furniture version I have. It is so simple to use and really picks up lint and dirt better than the OEM attachments.I use this on vinyl, flat carpet and a medium pile carpet. It has a slide height adjustment that can easily be changed with your toe or foot which makes going from one surface to another easy to do and keeps the brush rotating in the higher pile carpet. It is also great on through rugs.I must agree with others, it is not for deep cleaning. The only negative point is that with 3 daughters, all with long hair, the roller gets full of hair and needs to be cleaned about every 3 weeks. This could be happening because my canister vacuum might not have enough air flow to keep the hair from wrapping around the roller. Perhaps with a higher air flow vacuum it might just suck up the hair before it can wrap around the roller. Either way it is easy to keep the roller clean.Over all, I liked it so much that I bought a second one for the basement.*** Update ***I purchased a higher air flow canister vacuum and what a difference it made! Hair long hair buildup reduced by 75% and cleans much better than I imagined possible. I recommend this product with 5 stars.

Works well for more powerful shop-vacs, not so well for the smaller shop-vacs.
This has potential to be great. I recently started using my shopvac as my in-home vacuum because it has more suction, is easier to get around, and has a bigger capacity than my old vacuum (also it cost 45 bucks, cheaper than any house vacuum you can find). Anyway I needed a beater bar attachment for my shop-vac so I thought I would try this.I work similar to the stair attachment on your vacuums. The moving air spins a turbine than spins the beater bar. The greater the suction, the better the beater bar works. I think the reviews be the people who don't link this are by people who used it on the smaller shop vacs. If you have one of the better high capacity shop-vacs (5 or more peak horsepower) you won't be disappointed. If you have one of the smaller economy vacs, you will likely think this device is garbage.
