Works well so far.
Used this for years on acrylic paintings. Good if you want glossy finish. Makes the paintings difficult to photograph because of reflected light. I am a professional painter.

The BEST archival varnish out there. Reliable spray and unclogging nozzle.
Love my Krylon Archival Varnish Spray. I’m an acrylic painter on canvas. This is the only product I will use to seal my finished paintings. I trust the product that much with my originals. This one is the Satin finish, I also use the Matte and Glossy finishes too. The spray nozzle is reliable so that I don’t have to worry about puddling. Easy to spray in a back and forth manner without worry of clogging. As with all such products, spraying should be done in a ventilated space. The varnish is of typical smell, reminding you to ventilate (hopefully). All around, the only varnish I will use for anything, even my art.

Can will not spray, defective product
These are defective! This is a great product, but the can sent to me by Amazon was defective. Top was clogged, no amount of cleaning will make it spray. Buy this from someone else. If you buy from Amazon check immediately.

Perfect Clear Coat for UV Prints — Smooth Finish & Reliable Protection
I’ve been searching for a spray varnish that works well on UV-printed surfaces, and this one exceeded my expectations. It goes on smoothly, doesn’t distort or wrinkle the print, and adds a clean, protective finish that makes my handmade products look even more professional. After testing several brands, this is the only lacquer that consistently gives me a high-quality result. I’m very happy with it and plan to repurchase regularly. Highly recommended for anyone working with UV-printed items or acrylic crafts

Even coating, very nice matte finish
This product IS tricky and does require some trial and error. At least, the can I got requires some attention. Keep in mind as well, that this is my first time using a product like this, so I needed to learn newbie kinds of things. Having read previous reviews, I followed the instructions to the letter and tried my first coat on an oil-based black lino print that was a test print. Here is my experience and a tip or two: 1. It is winter and I don't have an indoor space where I can spray this, so I went out into 43 degree weather, which is outside of the recommended temperature range of 55-75 degrees. The cold may have impacted performance. I got glops on my print and noticed that the very fine spray was accumulating on my trigger finger, which may have been dripping down into the spray zone. The nozzle was soaked at any rate, so glops seemed inevitable. I stopped, regrouped, cleared the nozzle before recapping, and went and got another test print. 2. Given the cold temps, I filled a medium bowl with hot tap water and stood the can in the water, which came up maybe half way. I did not submerge the can or get the nozzle wet. My intent was to warm the fluid inside to offset the cold outside and to make shaking its contents easier. The can sat there for a few minutes while I set up my second test print. This is a trick I've seen contractors use before, so I applied it here and it seemed to work well. 3. I used a paper towel when I depressed the nozzle, hoping to soak up any spray that might accumulate around the nozzle. 4. Knowing that the spray is very fine and does tend to accumulate around the nozzle, I'd spray one coat, wipe the nozzle, shift the paper towel, and spray the next coat. I used all of the above tips on not only an oil based print, but an 11 x 14" watercolor as well. All of my efforts seemed to help, and I had no more glops after that first attempt. I will continue to test spray if the can has been sitting for a while, just in case. I'm really pleased with the finish of this spray, which to my eyes seemed to deepen, or enrich the colors, which I really liked. I love matte finishes and will continue to use this product. I even wet my fingers and went over the watercolor (after it had cured for the recommended time) to see if it would smudge and it did not. The spray is a very fine mist and seems to cover evenly. Keeping the can moving really helps keep the layers nice and thin and even. Very happy with this product.

Does NOT change colour in light, ever. Excellent product.
Buy it. Low odour, fast drying, non-yellowing, does not crack on canvas. I use it on charcoal, pastels, panpastels, inks, coloured pencil, acrylic, chalk, graphite and watercolour. Paper, canvas, wood and colour board all accept it without issue. Recoats well. You can overlay layers of contrasting media, between coats of this, and it all stays put. Place oil paint over the top coat only, and don't recoat with this product, oil paint needs a year to completely 'set' and this is not designed to be on top of fresh oil paint; but it perfect for under it. I often sandwich other media and do glazing with oils over what I have created, from greyscale/grisaille or coloured peices for great depth. Irreplicable product. I have tried all kinds of clear products over the ears, this is the best. Expensive but worth it. You will not be sorry investing in a can if you value keeping your colours intact while hung on a wall.

This works amazingly well, the slight gloss that comes on the darker hues of watercolour is so beautiful!

difficult to get right. Senistive to moisture in the air I believe. I sprayed some pages outside and they went frosty white. ruined! I think this stuff is best used indoors in large space with open windows and dehumidified. A lot of trouble really but probably works (I did get a couple times correct in the end, but there was a fair bit of trial and error. I wanted to use it to varnish gouache on paper if you're curious.)
