Excellent book
Firstly, thank you for having this. Oddly enough, I couldn’t find this book anywhere, but found it here on Amazon and it was on sale. I’m really grateful for this book. It’s really comprehensive. My memory isn’t the best, but the comprehensive exercises after each dialogue really help me with remembering the vocab. Great for anyone looking to learn in their beginning stages. I’d recommend though, anyone using it should probably watch YouTube videos along with it or have a tutor if possible, since the book is entirely in Arabic, even the instructions. Also, make sure you know how to read and write before starting this book. The book was packaged with care, and arrived very quickly. Thank you guys very much, I’m really grateful, alhamdulillah.

Love this book
Bismillah - I love this book! My Arabi tutor recommended this book to me and I find it easy to follow. The audio is available for free on the website that is listed on the cover page. I know previous reviewers mentioned not getting a CD but I prefer the convenience of having the studio play on my mobile device. I plan to purchase the whole series inshallah. Shukran!

To Learn Arabic Correctly
I have studied Arabic extensively and teach my students. This is probably the best series to learn Arabic available to the public (not a private university). I use Gateway To Arabic series before I begin to introduce students to this series to reinforce and improve their Arabic. I actually purchased all eight books in this series and I ordered six of them from East-West Souk. You will not be disappointed with this, but you need a teacher if you are just starting out. Practice with someone in the mosque or arabic restaurant and watch Al Jazeera Arabic to gain confidence slowly in listening and speaking. You will find people more than willing to help you when you show them you are actually trying to learn. Hope you enjoy.

Great
The book came in perfect condition. It didn't come with the CD, though, and I'm glad it didn't as I wouldn't be able to play it. Instead, it included a website link on the cover of the book that directs you to access the material they previously loaded on the CD.

This is for someone that already reads pretty well. There is no transliteration or English
Simple straight forward and just a bit challenging. This is for someone that already reads pretty well. There is no transliteration or English. It really does depend on your style of learning. The book itself is very good quality paper and binding and even comes with heavy duty plastic cover which is extra nice.

Potentially good Arabic language series for motivated students
(Wife): This is a review for Arabic Between Your Hands, Level 1, Vol. 1. Overview: The book looks like a good textbook / workbook for beginner students of Arabic who can read Arabic script. There are a lot of color pictures in the book with several simple dialogs. Topics include greetings / nationalities, home, food, jobs (I believe).... good, all-around beginner material. There are other books available that continue the series, if that is of interest to you as well. This book teaches MSA (Modern Standard Arabic). Four notes on the design: 1. The book has a plastic cover on it, so a little more protection than a standard softcover. 2. I found one word that was a bit too close to the margin, so it got eaten up by the binding. But, it appeared to be directions or seasons or something that was part of an illustration, so I am fairly confident that I'll be able to figure it out. 3. Yes, an MP3 CD is included. 4. No, the book is not three-hole-punched. No English -- and a suggestion on what to do about that: Now, it is true that there isn't a lick of English anywhere in the directions. So, what do you do if you can't read the directions? Try an electronic translator of some kind. I actually find that Google Translate works OK for this. That said, I recommend using a different source for a primer on reading and writing Arabic script. But once you can do that, you may be able to use this book effectively, especially if you are motivated. The dialogs / lessons start out with relatively simple language. Frankly, I find it an easier text to use than Al-Kitaab, 2nd Edition (Vol. 1), once you look up translations for the directions. A note on the MP3 Audio CD: Unlike Al-Kitaab's DVDs (2nd Ed.), you don't have to search through a screen with a gazillion unknown Arabic words on it just to find the vocab items -- and you might even be able to listen to the dialogs, etc. in your car or on your MP3 player. So, a huge improvement in usability over Al-Kitaab's DVDs, just by using simpler technology. The speakers also seemed to be clear and I think at an appropriate pace for learners, much like in the Al-Kitaab series. Combination textbook / workbook -- or "one use" textbook, if you will: This textbook / workbook does contain exercises in which you write directly in the book, connecting words and pictures on the pages, so the book does function as a combo textbook / workbook -- or as a workbook with good reference material. So, don't expect to reuse it, if you actually do the exercises as designed. Conclusion: This looks like a potentially good series for students motivated to learn and use Arabic in daily life. While the series uses MSA, it should nonetheless help to lay a decent groundwork in learning and using the language in everyday situations.
