Hate water shoes but need them for water activities? Then these are for you!!
I am very pleased with this purchase! I actually had an opportunity to wear a friend's pair a couple of times while on Sanibel Island walking the beaches collecting shells before I took the plunge and bought these. I have had numerous pairs of water shoes over the years and all of them ended up collecting sand after a day or two of use and rubbing spots on my feet raw (especially the tendons on the top of my feet). I was skeptical of these; I do not dive but I do snorkel whenever I can, and didn't think I wanted a boot (ugly tan lines?!?!) These changed my mind. The bottoms are thick enough to not make rocks and shells hurt underfoot yet flexible enough to be folded and thrown in a bag. They let some water in but they don't let sand in. But the best part is the seamless design - nothing rubbed!!!! My feet were in heaven (and if you've ever had blisters from wet shoes you know what I am talking about!) They rinse off easily and then just sit out to dry. I wash them at the end of the trip with some mild dish soap and water (the label says you can wash them in cold but I did it by hand in the sink). As for being a boot and tan lines.. they are a short boot so I did not find this to be an issue (which might matter to some of you reading this). The only negative I could anticipate for someone is if they had really swollen ankles; then I suppose there is the possibility of pinching at the top. The friend I borrowed a pair from has had them for about 5 years and her entire family loves them. They do retain their shape and run true to size, a little wider than a medium width shoe.

Nice
I love them, nice and comfortable, I like the sole, looks and it's rough/tough to keep your feet safe from rocks or sharp objects if you are walking on the beach by the rocks, I haven't used them yet on a real ocean scenario but I'm sure they will work fine to me, I put my open heel U.S. Divers fins on and they fit perfect and comfortable in the foot pocket, talking about these fins, these are the same as the Akona Caicos and Promate pace, just to give you an idea. I'm a size 11 in shoes, but my real foot size is a 10 1/2, I like to leave extra room for comfort and I guess all people do the same. I was reading the reviewes about the size and peolpe were saying that they runs large, in my case and following their advices, I got the size 10 which is very exact on my foot, from heel to toe, I think you don't need to have extra room on these types of shoes. So I guess they runs a little big only, like in my case, the 10 is a real 10 1/2, I feel a snug comfortable fit., great product. In my case sizes will be like this: 10 is 10 1/2, 11 is 11 1/2, 9 is 9 1/2......etc...

Nice booties
Very nice booties for diving with open heal fins. Fit well and very comfortable. I had the exact same before that was lost. These are exactly the same! Needed them fast for an upcoming dive trip and was able to get next day!

These are very comfortable. I ordered 11 which is my standard shoe ...
These are very comfortable.I ordered 11 which is my standard shoe size....but had to return and drop one size to a 10.After that, they fit fine. I would recommend you do the same. The fact that they are thin makes them move around on your foot excessively if not snug.Worked great in an open heel fin.One issue was that after a couple hours (each day) on back to back days of snorkeling, I got small blisters on the back of my ankle right where the top edge of the boot meets the skin. This could be a result of my fin straps...but can't be 100 percent sure. My guess would be it's the boot.I will probably get a higher top boot next time to be certain and avoid that. These are great for wearing on the beach and not so long periods of snorkeling as I usually do.I have to dock a star for the sizing and also the blister issue. Once the blisters are there, it's very uncomfortable to try and wear them.....even just walking around. Other than that the quality seems great....well built. As others have mentioned, the soles are good for sand, pavement, etc.. but not for sharp rocks. I wore them through a gravel parking lot and they were uncomfortably thin. But then again....being in gravel is very rare for me. I wouldn't recommend for walking up creek beds, etc. Could get a cut.

Very comfortable and durable. You will never regret buying these boots
I love them and this is my third pair. They are very comfortable, easy to put on and to take out. I used the first one in my job, where i often have to walk on rocks before i start using it underwater with fins. It was so good that i kept it on, walking on asphalt or rocks, when i needed it, even if i wasn't going to dive immediately. After four years it shows a little wear on the sole, but i think it will last at least three or four years more. Maybe in professional intensive use, with continued walking on rough rocks (not normal use on a boat) it may last half of that time, but that means three years walking on rocks, and this is a lot of time!i bought a second pair for my free time, but i ordered the wrong size. Just one step bigger, still very elastic fitting but enough to make me feel uncomfortable with the extra length. As i like the feeling of exact fitting and security it gives i bought my third pair: perfect!I highly recommend this dive boots; worth every dollar. Just pay attention with sizes, and spend one minute more with the size table...

Fantastic for river exploring
I bought these for freshwater river exploring/swimming, and if you usually use Teva-style flat sandals for that, prepare to be happier with these! They completely kept out even the smallest gravel and muck, and with socks they were okay for very sharp rocky riverbeds with shallow water (that is, where most of your weight is not supported by water). I agree with other reviewers, buy a size down from your usual size. These are not thickly padded, but it’s easy and comfy to wear short socks inside them. I ordered down one size and they still worked perfectly with thick socks. So far I’ve only used them for a few afternoons of river exploring but they held up beautifully, are very easy to hand wash so there’s zero river smell, and dry faster than sandals.
