YakGear 01-0096 Standncast Outriggers (Gen II)

I got these to put on my son’s kayak so I didn’t have to worry about him tipping. They have worked perfectly. They were super easy to install and are very durable. They fit his kayak perfectly and best of all I can still fit the kayak in the back of the truck and on the kayak rack at home. It’s easy to adjust them and they are a great value for the money! If you are looking for ease of installation, stability and durability, these are the way to go.

Made my ascend 10t so stable I can walk to the front. Put them in the front for when you stand it'll have better stability and the connection to the floor to the walls is more stronger. Mounted with the included wellnuts, sometimes they pull out a little but just re tighten

I think any outriggers, be them cheap inflatable or these, are going to give roughly the same stability so I feel this high price boils down to high quality parts and features that will hold up in salt, unobtrusive and well designed with lots of ease of use features and follows the sleek nature of a kayak. If a larger 6 bolt base was available it would be five stars. I would absolutely buy again. Pros: Even though they’re expensive, I feel the quality of the parts as well as fit and finish warrant it. I was skeptical but they are well thought out and executed so now that I have them it’s not an inflated price imo. For example, the insides of the tubes are painted which is a well thought out detail and they should handle salt for a long time. Superb running stability on my Pelican catch 100. They handled 1-2’ waves well enough that I’m now more comfortable going out on rougher days which gives me a lot more chances to go out and enjoy. I didn’t notice any sign of drag, my speeds remained the same as before installing. Over joyed with standing stability, I was able to sidearm cast and lean over the edge all while reaching down adjusting the trolling motor speed/direction, all of which could get sketchy sitting down without these. I appreciate the low profile more than I thought, these are barely noticeable with a clear view what’s in front of you (if you plan to mount them forward) and they’re not distracting at all. They look and feel like a natural extension of the kayak The mounts are very sturdy and convenient which I’m sure was a large part of the cost as Railblaza isn’t cheap but they were the right choice here. It’s basically one button to remove them yet it is very secure. Simple to install, just take your time, directions are clear english with good attention to detail yet easy to follow. Cons: I feel they should offer larger mounts with 6 screws to give more surface area attached to the plastic so it doesn’t flex so much, either as an option or offer an adaptor. I don’t feel it’s going to rip through the plastic or anything but something I plan to address in future trips. It’s a high end product that lives up to its high end price

Works as intended and stabilizes my Coleman canoe. Had to make brackets to mount but I expected that. On first test I had my wife ,me fishing gear battery and trolling motor in canoe and stood up and rocked the canoe and can tell it helps a ton would recommend. I like that they snap in and have a locking lever to take on and off for transport.

Issues I've had. 1. The Plastic mounts are made of a cheap hard thermoplastic making them prone to shattering especially when the bottom is filled with holes. It should be one whole piece of plastic. Or make it out of aluminum alloys. 2. The riggers adjustment knob teeth aren't fine enough so there's really no fine adjustments to the angles. You can make in work tho. But one float is always going to be floating higher out of the water than the other. Probably by about 2-3 inches, but if you lean to one side it will hold you up. 3. I needed these as I did the Stadium seat upgrade which replaces the low sitting kayak seat and places you up about 4-6 inches higher so it made the kayak almost to top heavy to use.. These did improve the stability of my kayak though. 4. No I could not stand on my kayak with these outriggers, Maybe a bird boned dude could at 145-165lbs but me at 260 could not

Wasn't too sure of the stability for the size of the floats. They were A LOT smaller than I thought, but they are extremely buoyant. The instructions say that screws to attach the arms to the float angle adjusters are self tapping. THIS IS FALSE. Almost broke the outrigger arms trying to screw them in. Actually had to tap the hole first, which wasn't a big deal, but the instructions should reflect that. Don't describe something as self tapping if it's NOT! My biggest complaint is that the adjustable tooth mounts on the vessel side are malformed. The angles DO NOT MATCH UP. One makes a perfect 90° angle. The other is just about 80°. No matter how I adjust them, they WILL not match, one side is always lower than the other. If I had noticed that before I installed them, I would have sent the product back. Although they do serve my purpose, I would not recommend these to any of my friends, and if I ever do need to replace my outriggers, I will purchase a different product. In addition, after the email I received from YakGear regarding the problems I had with their product, I sincerely regret this purchase. BILL BRAGMAN was very condescending and provided zero assistance in resolving my issues. He basically treated me like I was stupid and did nothing to make me feel valued as a customer, only told me there was nothing wrong with their product and gave me inadequate excuses. No offer to help in any way or to make this right. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Frankly, I wish I could give zero stars for this review of YakGear. **This review should NOT reflect adversely on Amazon in any way whatsoever. No me gusto la forma de fijarse al casco del Kayak; esa fijación debería de hacerse con tornillos y con tuercas. El sistema de fijación y que viene es muy débil

The product is great and works amazing (other then missing some screws), but YakGear Customer service is not great at all. When purchasing the product I paid for shipping, then the when the freight arrived I was charged for another shipping cost. No mention on the anywhere that there maybe additional shipping costs. The shipping company would not give me the product unless I paid the extra costs. YakGear did not answer any of my messages sent. I have called there number and left many messages and no call back. I had to get ahold of Amazon, their customer service was great and got me my product. Amazon Customer service could not even get a hold of Yakgear as well no how matter how many phone calls, emails and messages where sent no reply back at all.

I receive this Item today. I am extremely pleased with this Outriggers. This Item is well made the Quality is excellent. If you’re looking for this type of Item look at this one. Because the pontoon raise up and move out of the water. They are not the strap down ones with a command bar. You will see me purchase other products off this seller.. I will add a picture when install on my Hobie PA14 Pro Thank You
