lid It doesn’t sit evenly on the pot and leaves a noticeable gap.
I love the size of this pot. It’s big, spacious, and perfect for cooking large meals. The material feels sturdy and well made. However, I’m really disappointed with the lid. It doesn’t sit evenly on the pot and leaves a noticeable gap, so it doesn’t close properly. A good-fitting lid is very important for cooking, and this one doesn’t seal the way it should. Because of that, I’m not fully satisfied with my purchase, even though I like the pot itself.

Rough finish with good results
The IMUSA Caldero is the cheapest option for cooking Caribbean style rice with that specific kind of pot. It is approximately 8 1/4 inches in diameter (2 Qt. And sufficient for 1 to 3 people), made of aluminum single piece construction, where the handles are not bolted on but rather part of the unibody cast in one piece, which means that they get very hot when you’re cooking. The pot has sharp edges, a rough embossed bottom, which will definitely scratch any glass-top cooking surface, and the lid has a screw-on knob (plastic ?) that never gets hot during cooking. The pot arrived wrapped in plastic with minor grease stains on the inside of the lid and pot. This is clearly not a premium product, but it is affordable and works acceptably well. Even though I seasoned the pot with a light coating of oil and letting it heat up, twice, there was still a bit of sticking of the rice. This is fairly typical and not a problem. Whatever doesn’t come out in the serving, will be loosened by letting it soak overnight with a bit of water. Although I am not happy with the rough finish and scratchy bottom of the pot, it does work really well. It is good values for money IF YOU TAKE THE TIME TO SEASON the pot. Seasoning the caldero does help the cooking process and you will get less sticking. I have cooked traditional “rice and beans” twice with it with great results. If you don’t expect a premium product, you will be pleased.

Love this pot for cooking large meals
Amazing to cook with. Does not stick. Easy to clean. Very large. Must have flat top stove as it will not fit on a normal burner

Love this pot so far. I got it yesterday. I washed it and immediately started cooking in it. It cooks very well. I made like a zucchini and yellow squash stew of sorts. I started with avocado oil, onions, bell peppers, garlic, celery, a sliced whole jalapeño, bacon and smoked sausage. I sauté that all together. Added stewed tomatoes. Then added my cut up squash, with seasonings and some tomato paste. When I tell you it was a party going on in that pot, I’m not exaggerating. Cooked some yellow rice and scooped the stew up to pour over the top. It was so good. More than enough room for everything. I like the size of the pot and how much it holds. And nothing stuck to the bottom. I was concerned about that, because the texture of the pot is slightly of coarse, but that wasn’t a problem. The pot has a thickness and deepens to it, making it very versatile for many cooking styles and recipes. I’m really happy with my purchase thus far.

Top did not fit
The pot is a good size and the bottom was not too light/flimsy. Unfortunately the lid did not fit the pot and there was a gap left around it. Since the return period had already expired, I could not return it. When I made my rice and chicken, I had to cover the pot with aluminum foil and then put the lid on it. Luckily the rice and chicken I made came out very well. I would suggest checking the pot right away upon delivery. It seems quality control is very lax.
