CHOBA B CCCP, the Russian translation of "Back in the USSR,", was released in the Soviet Union in 1988, making Paul the first artist from the West to issue an album exclusively for that market. It was released in the rest of the world following the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991. Ruminating on the next stage of his career, following 1986's Press to Play, Paul decided he wanted to get back to his roots, so he hired three session musicians and spent just two days covering his favorite hits from the 1950s. Review: I love this! - A very good CD. I just wish I knew how to pronounce it so I could listen to it on desertcart music. Review: Paul McCartney - Choba B CCCP - CD - Ok ' or Return .

Rock an Roll standards given the inimitable McCartney touch
This album was originally released exclusively in the former Soviet Union in 1987. It was later issued here with extra tracks. Superb interpretations by Paul, who knows exactly how to treat them -never too much or too little with the vocal gymnastics. He's right on target every time. Too many highlights to mention, but pay attention to "Twenty Flight Rock". That song was the "audition" that convinced John, back in 1957, that this guy (Paul) might be worth an invite to join the band. Also worthy of your attention is Paul's 1999 album "Run, Devil, Run" - a 2nd superb collection of oldies, this time including a few McCartney originals that fit right in.

Sir Paul's Rock 'n Roll roots
I've been curious about this album for a very long time. Thanks to Macca and his team for releasing this to the rest of us. He's covering so many of Rock 'n Roll's founding fathers...including Elivis. As all Beatle fans know, it was these guys who inspired the young John, Paul & George in the first place...all those years ago.

Unbridled Talent
Excellent album! Paul McCartney showing off unbridled talent and diversity. Prefer the 14-track recording that includes “Summertime” - a stellar arrangement of this classic!!

Paul in Russia?
The Russians love rock 'n roll and were repressed from it. When Western World groups were let into Russia, after Communism failed, Paul went and they loved him.
