Fantastic sprouts with a little zing!
I was so excited to try these, but I didn't have everything I needed. I came up with this makeshift setup. I used a brand new pair of knee high nylon womens stockings and rubber bands. It worked perfectly and would tide me over until I received the materials to make proper sprouting lids. I took pictures everyday to show the progress. When I first opened the bag, I was almost turned off by the smell. I decided to give it a go anyway. I soaked 2 level tablespoons of seeds per 32oz jar for 12 hours. After that, I placed them in the jars. I put the nylon stretched very tightly and secured it with a rubber band. I made sure the toe seam was on the side and not in the draining area, just in case the seeds would get stuck in it. Next, I rolled the jar gently to disperse the seeds on the sides. I placed the jar angled in a bowl so that any leftover water could drain. TIP: It's good to keep the seeds moist, but not sitting in water while they are sprouting. 2-4 times a day I would fill the jar up with water, give it a little shake and drain it again, then put it back in the bowl. I would make sure to empty the bowl each time too. Everyday, I saw tremendous growth with nearly 100% germination. I covered the jars with a black kitchen towel since the seeds sprout better and grow more rapidly in the dark. I highly recommend everyone to cover their jars. You will see 15-25% volume increase just by doing this one step. By the beginning of the 4th day, these sprouts were bulging out of the top. I moved them to a large punch bowl. I rinsed and gently agitated them with my fingers in the water so the husks would float to the top. I would dump out that top portion of water while holding the sprouts down. I did this 3-4 times and it removed nearly all of the husks. Next, I loosely topped the bowl with plastic wrap and placed it in a window to get indirect sunlight. Never put your sprouts in full sun. They will wither and die. They continued to grow in the large bowl. After about 6-8 hours of indirect sunlight, they are ready to eat. They have a beautiful pale green color and are tender but crunchy. The first thing I made was a tuna salad sandwich, cheese and these sprouts. It was delightful. The sprouts have a nice texture, smell, flavor and a little zesty bite as an aftertaste. I love these! As a matter of fact, I just bought 2 more bags. Since it's only 2 tablespoons per jar it's an extremely good value. Propagation is super easy and very fruitful. While these were greening out for me, my supplies arrived to make the lids. I used a 7 count needle point plastic mesh. I took a lid and traced it onto the material. I cut it out and put it in the lid cap. Perfect sprouting lid. I started my second batch of sprouts and now they have the new lids. I don't suspect that there will be much of a difference. I can tell you that it will be less messy since the nylons held some of the water around the outside of the lid. I'm not complaining at all because I was able to make my first batch of sprouts while I was waiting for my supplies. These crafty new screen lids that I made will make sure everything drains properly and will be less messy. I hope that you all have the success I have had with these sprouting seeds. It was a wonderful first experience. Happy indoor gardening! Update 8/22/2025 I have finished one bag. I have made many, many batches of these with my new homemade sprouting lids. I have also reduced the soak time to 6 hours after a quick rinse with 8oz water and 1 tsp white vinegar. Immediately rinse 3 more times then refill with water and let sit 6 hours. TIP: Do not let the seeds sit in the vinegar for too long. I made that mistake. I got distracted and accidentally left the seeds in the vinegar for the whole 6 hours. Oops! All three of my jars ended up molding. Besides that, my sprouting has never been better! The vinegar rinse prevents any bacteria from forming initially. They still grow perfect every time. I realized that if you leave the seeds in the vinegar too long, it actually breaks the seeds down leading to terrible, white, fuzzy mold. I have found other ways to use these. I decided to try some in an omelet with honey ham, american cheese, swiss cheese and sprouts with a little bacon salt. I did 2 sides of hash browns and a sausage patty. It was scrumptious. For lunch, I threw together some spicy asian chicken tacos with rotisserie chicken, Laoganma Spicy Chili Crisp Sauce, Gangjung sauce and these sprouts. That was fantastic! A definite keeper. I also made a quick kimchi. I loved that as well. These sprouts are perfect on a BLT or any kind of burger. Everyone in my family is eating sprouts now. These sprouts have proven to be very useful and tasty. I even used them in shrimp egg foo young with oyster sauce brown gravy. I will continue to buy these and highly recommend. I had no idea that I/we loved sprouts so much.

Delicious
Good amount of seeds, they will last a long time no matter how much you like sprouts. Not quite as spicy as I would like but this is my first rodeo with growing sprouts and maybe they don't come any spicy. They grow fast and a very tasty. It's just nice to grow these seeds to sprouts knowing how they are grown without pesticides etc. Just a huge plus to have fresh sprouts when I want them, well with a few days planning and growing anyways. I haven't had any issues with mold or anything like that. I think if the instructions are followed and rinsed like they should be then there shouldn't be any mold growth. I can see if they are left to sit without rinsing properly that mold could happen. Just follow the directions.

I didn't like the taste of zesty mixture
I got the mixture with fenugreek clover and radish. I sprouted one batch with sprouted very well however I didn't like the taste at all and the rest of the bag is going in the trash which I feel very sad about because I really like sprouts in general but these were just very bitter and I could eat a mouthful and that's it. I didn't taste the radish sprouts at all and that's the main reason I got this particular bag. Very sad about it. Maybe the other mixtures are better I don't know. I gave it three stars because it sprouted very well and hade a high germination rate
