The Dyson V6 Absolute cordless vacuum comes equipped with two Dyson-engineered cleaner heads. Invented for hard floors, the Soft roller cleaner head removes large debris and fine dust simultaneously. Review: Does exactly what we bought it for! - Great as a second vacuum to be used without having to haul out the canister unit. It has at least as strong suction as our Meile canister vac... we were amazed at how much it picked up from what we thought were clean floors! The absolute is light, easy to handle, and comes with a dual HEPA filter. I usually have to leave the house while my wife vacuums due to allergies, but I can do the vacuuming myself with the V6 with no problems at all. Other reviewers mentioned the short battery life, but I was able to get 10 minutes out of it on high power, with occasional stopping to move a chair or two out of the way. The hard floor attachment is perfect, with microfiber rollers that actually polish the floor as you vacuum. The regular carpet attachment works great on carpet and large rugs. A couple of tips: I saw a few reviewers comment about having to use fingers or a butter knife to get extra dirt out of the top end of the dirt canister. The canister can actually be easily removed for quick and through cleaning. First, slide the red dirt removal button down to pop open the dirt canister over a trash can. Shake out as much dirt as you can. Then, slide the red dirt removal button down again all the way, while tilting the clear dirt canister out and away from the motor. It's designed to pop on and off for easy cleaning. Use the small non-motorized brush tool to brush off the red vacuum cone and the gasket around the top edge, which tends to collect dirt. You don't have to do this each time, but if you overfill the canister, it makes cleaning a lot easier. Second tip, I recommend mounting the charging hanger directly into a stud in the wall, rather than just into the drywall between studs. That will keep it secure when you mount and dismount the vacuum. As you remount the vacuum in the charging station you will be pushing upwards on the spring-loaded top of the charging station to insert the vacuum. Screws that don't go into studs could tear the drywall up after a time. As others have mentioned, a battery and separate charger would be great as a future product add-on; if Dyson doesn't come out with one, someone else surely will as an after-market add-on. I did find a work-around for this problem. Spare batteries are available from either Dyson or by after-market vendors such as this one: 21.6V 2.2Ah Replacement Battery for Dyson V6 DC58 DC59 DC61 DC62 Animal DC72 Series . If you do not use the wall bracket for charging, your charging cord can actually charge the spare battery without the battery being installed in the vacuum. If your cord is installed in the wall mount bracket, you can get a spare one here: Dyson Charger, Dc58/59 Dc59 Motor Head . This cord will plug directly into the spare battery and it will be charged and ready to go when your V6 vacuum battery runs out. Two small black phillips head screws come right out, the battery pops out, and the new one pops in. Not as easy as a snap-in replacement battery, but it only takes a few seconds to swap one out. For someone who loves the incredible power, HEPA filter, cordless convenience, and versatility of the V6, but needs a spare battery solution for longer jobs, it's worth it. Even with the one battery supplied with the unit, the V6 works great for quick clean-ups in between a whole house cleaning. I can vacuum our large kitchen, laundry room, and guest bath all on high power before the battery needs recharging, which is perfect. Later, after a recharge, I can do the master bedroom, bath, and study on another charge. After a few times with the full power, the lower power setting does a great job, as you only need the high power booster occasionally. Most houses could be vacuumed completely on the lower power setting. If Dyson comes out with a kit that includes a quick change battery and charger for the V6 line, I will be a lifelong supporter and customer. ****UPDATE: To really make this vacuum versatile, I ordered the flexible extension hose here: Genuine Dyson Extension Hose and a set of attachments to go with it, here: Dyson Asthma & Allergy Kit . They all attach easily to the V6 and expand its capabilities!
Review: Best Cordless Vacuum Ever!!!! - Ok. I have been eyeing this for months. Like drooling maybe. I have an old purple pet dyson i used in my salon for years. Yes , i said salon, after all, it is hair in the floor like a dog, lol. I have a Dyson in my house also, the yellow roller ball one which I Love, but it just doesn't have the suction like this one. OK , my house is 6900 square feet and lugging a corded vacuum around sucks. So, my upstairs would get vacuumed , but the downstairs rarely, too much work carrying vacuum downstairs. (Yes we had a vacuum downstairs too, but gave it to my kid), I recieved it yesterday. Was thrilled that after I put it together that it had some charge to it and I Used all of the power in it. It did not last long, so I plugged it in. At 8 pm, after 3 hours of charge, I was excited to use it. Ok. It lasted less than 5,minutes. While I love the portability of it and did my stairs, corners, under the bed, did I say under the bed???,,,,, yes Under the bed. Woohoo, ran those dust bunnies right out of there, they escaped, hee hee. I cannot believe how much dirt this vacuum picks ups, because you want to go to every corner, window sill, etc. i did not even think my house was even dirty. Sheesh. Emptied that thing many times. Lol. Ok, I know it is high powered and it actually sucks stronger than my upright Dyson, but I have already used it 5 x times because it is fun, why does it only run for under 8 minutes each time??? It has been broke more than it has worked. Pain in the butt. I really love this cordless, portable, vacuum. Lasting less than 8 minutes, means I will have to clean my house in spurts all day, but I can deal with that as I am really impressed with how strong it is and I can deal with how many times it needs charging. But for a hefty price, it should last longer, but with the size of my house, I like this better than a darn cord. Now I cannot wait to use the attachments and clean way up high and the airco vents. **Q: I'm confused on its tools. What do I get for the price of $415? Is it necessary to buy additional tools?**
A: I don't know your situation so I can't comment on whether you need to buy additional tools. My Dyson V6 Animal came with the large direct drive cleaner head pictured, a smaller direct drive head,  a crevice too, a soft brush tool and a hard brush tool. The large direct drive tool works great on carpets and ceramic tile floors. It really picks up the dog hair and dirt. I recently bought the Dyson Articulating Hard Floor Tool for the wood floors. Haven't tried it out yet.  Check my review of May 23, 2015 Big Positives Some Negatives by Mikie MacBean.

**Q: THe rotating brush is immobilized by long hair.  Now the brush attachment no longer 'opens' with a screw driver.  Any solutions?**
A: omg...I have a long hair 150# dog...I use this Dyson daily...just turn the brush over and pull the hair out manually....it comes off the roller very easily...

**Q: Does it work with both 110V and 220V?**
A: The charger is 110-240v , just like most laptops these days. The prongs are standard USA 2 pin but you could just as easily but it into an adapter and use on any 110-240 electrical system socket just like any laptop.

**Q: Is the battery removable? Can I buy an extra to always have one charged or for bigger cleaning jobs?**
A: Actually, technically yes the battery CAN be fairly easily replaced with a freshly charged battery. Spare replacement batteries can be found on Amazon as well as spare charger cables. The battery does not need to be in the vacuum to be charged if you have a spare charger or if your charger cable is not mounted inside the wall mount bracket. Two small screws and the battery pops out and is easily replaced. Not as convenient as a snap-in battery, but a workable option for those who want the superior qualities of the Dyson V6 with HEPA filter and super-strong suction. Also, the lower power setting is fine for 80% of the time, which gives a full 20 minutes of run time per battery.
