Fed with a quality signal it shines
Very happy with the picture on this Sony set and it has just the right amount of features if you do not want extra app's to download and just want a great picture with good sound. The picture when fed from an aerial is spot on and is easily adjusted from the well thought out, Sony you say !, menu's which are always quickly accessible from the nicely laid out, Sony you say!, remote control. Up on the Freeview HD channels - and I use an L-band aerial which was a bargain at £35, giving a shown 100% on the in-built signal and quality meters and always from 93% or better on all channels as these Are far superior for digital use and have proper screw on connectors so scrap the old school analogue style aerial you are still using NOW ! sorry, I digress - the picture is perfect giving a great colour balance and great depth to the picture and never showing signs of dodgy picture. SD channels are completely acceptable too. When paired with a good 4K source such as a blu-ray player - like the Sony XMP800 which is excellent, too - or signal from your computer graphics card or similar this set really shines and shows what a bargain it is for the price, this due in-part to lack of Android. Deep yet legible blacks, crisp clean bright whites and excellent natural colour rendition and the picture depth that can be perceived when well fed is most commendable. There are a range of adjustments you can make to the picture to suit your preference and once set up this is a great tv/monitor. Network connection and setup is straightforward and simple and you will be up and running in no time with this set and if you don't want or need the extra Android capabilities then this is a fantastic model to buy, truly. The sound from the in built speakers are a pleasant surprise in comparison to the usual in built speakers found elsewhere and are perfect if you don't want to use your cinema amp late at night so as not to disturb the neighbours and are most welcome. Overall very impressed for the money and it is a bargain. Feed it well and it will reward you with a visual feast, a bonanza of sharp vivid and clean colours and excellent motion capabilities. IF there were to be a gripe - where would we be without one ? - then that would be with it's brightness/picture visibility when in bright rooms as it can get slighly difficult to see but can be alleviated through careful positioning or remedied by closing curtains/dimming the room. This really is a pretty minor gripe in reality and for it's price it really is quite excellent.

makes a nice PC monitor for viewing from the sofa
I haven't had a TV in years. To give you an idea, my last one said Trinitron on it. Wanted to use as a PC monitor for use from my sofa or a desk chair (2-3 metres away). The image is clear. I'm using Windows 10 and had to adjust the scaling between 175% and 200% depending on how far I'm sitting. If you are doing the same, I recommend that you change the HDMI port that you plug your PC into to 'enhanced'. Every so often I get a reminder of the resolution when I'm switching windows. It stays on for a few seconds which is annoying but nothing major. When you first power up the TV it asks you if you want to use the smart features. As I was always planning on connecting it to my computer, which is pretty smart too, I selected no. The slightly more expensive Android one may be better if you're planning on using that stuff. Been using this as a PC monitor for a few weeks and I wonder why I didn't do this before.

Sony 43" 4k Smart TV
Time to replace my old Sony Bravia TV. Had it for fifteen year with no problems but felt like an upgrade. A new Bravia was an obvious choice. I went for the 43" KD43XG70. They go bigger but as I only have a small room I didn't want the TV to dominate it. It arrived promptly. Impressive straight out the box. The only assembly required was putting on the legs which is a very easy task. Set up was just as easy. It have all the required sockets on the back and really looks the part. The picture quality is outstanding which for me having not owned a 4k HD before is a new viewing experience. Sharp and crystal clear with no detail missed. The sound is good as well. There is plenty of adjustment to picture and sound that can be made but it was perfect straight out of the box for me. Love this TV. Would recommend.

Awful software
A great TV with excellent picture quality for the price. The speakers are surprisingly good as well, although it's better to have a sound bar. It's really good with Xbox/PS4 too *Edit* - after using the TV for a few months, I've noticed how terrible the software is. The apps crash daily, resulting in having to turn the TV off and on again at the wall. You can't download any more apps, other than the ones that are on the TV when it arrives. I'm very disappointed

Vivid, Sharp Picture, Clear Sound, Mediocre Apps
For a very reasonable price, you're provided with some exceptionally strong visuals from this Sony TV, the sound is very crisp and clear, and I've had no issues with the quality of the TV. Gaming is fantastic on this TV too, and 4K content is displayed true. Like other reviewers have mentioned the apps are disappointing for a smart TV, they have crashed occasionally, but 95% of the time work perfectly, with the exception of Netflix and Amazon Video, there isn't much to note from the apps.

Beautiful Crisp images.
Such a great TV. Watched ‘our planet’ the new david Attenborough series in 4K and it blew my mind how crystal clear the picture is. I recommend going online for help to get the best out of the settings. There’s no point in buying if you’re not going to make sure you get the best out of it though. This TV is one of the best things I’ve bought! Amazing colours, so crisp and clear! You won’t regret this purchase.

Excellent value for money
We now have this as our main TV. We use it linked to our Humax Freesat box, our DVD player and with optical output cable to link the sound to our HiFi and our four wire speakers. We also watch iplayer etc via wifi and screen mirror our phones which is great. We bought the 43" model for £399 but had to buy a separate stand to mount it on our cabinet which is too narrow for the TV legs supplied. It certainly exceeds our expectations and has impressed our son who is very into his Tech!!
