High quality chestnut puree
Exactly what I needed for my chestnut cheesecake with caramelized persimmon topping. High quality, shipped super fast, and helped me create a show stopped for our Thanksgiving. I would never find this or anything like it where I live.

great for elevating dinner
This chestnut puree is perfect for making a savory seasoned puree to schmear under a steak or scallops or any protein for a fancy dinner at home. I added thyme, salt, pepper, and a dash of cream in the mixer with this and it came out smooth and delicious.

Could Be Sweeter
This is the only place I could find chestnut puree. It appears from other reviews that some people have attempted to eat this right out of the can, and I doubt that is the purpose of this product. I used this to make a chestnut chocolate pot, and it turned out OK, but it could have been sweeter. Good thing my friend made a ton of whipped cream to accompany it.

awful flavor.
I very disappointed with this product because I grew up in western Europe and know what Chesnuts taste like or products made of chesnuts but this paste is gross. Just don’t buy and if you do I know that you'll be disappointed too . I am mad too , in USA one cannot find chesnuts to save a life .

Will try other brand
There is a bitter taste and it will need some sugar to neutralize it.

High quality
I order this every year to make a turkey stuffing. It's kind of expensive, but well worth the cost.

like sugar or other preservatives and she ended up throwing ...
Being Hungarian, my mom, every year for the holidays makes a hungarian dessert dish called Chestnut Puree. She adds in rum, grated dark chocolate and a little heavy cream to make it smooth. For years she used to get her own chestnuts; roast them, peel them and puree it herself. She's been looking in the stores for this chestnut puree and could not find it anywhere so she asked me to check on Amazon and behold, the same brand she's always bought. One reason she loves this brand is that it is PURE Chestnut Puree. There are no additions added to it other than just chestnuts. That was one thing she wanted me to make sure of because by accident in the past she has purchased chestnut puree but there were other ingredients added, like sugar or other preservatives and she ended up throwing it out. I think the only downfall was only the single container was amazon prime. They do offer this in other quantity packs for a very minuscule discount but you have to pay shipping on it because it's not shipped by amazon. The company really should offer the discount or free shipping on the multi-quantity packs.

perfect for my Chestnut Stuffing recipie
Mix with Jimmy Deans sage sausage meat and a chopped onion and it makes the most delicious Christmas stuffing. Cook for 1-2 hours: I cook it in a separate dish alongside but not inside the turkey. It is perfect served hot with the main dinner, or cold on a sandwich with leftover turkey. Local grocery stores don't seem to carry this product anymore, but for me it isn't Christmas without it!
