The briefcase arrived quickly and was just as described. It has a beautiful leather exterior, durable locks, the ability to expand the file pockets and the bottom portion of the case. I also love the one year warranty reminder about manufacturer defects. My husband loved it, and I loved the quality product for a VERY reasonable price. When he wears this one out, I will look for another Alpine Swiss attache case. Great buy! UPDATE: One year and three months later of daily use (and my husband is very hard on his briefcases- he is a general contractor and just tosses it in the truck), this briefcase is still holding strong. The outer edges have worn a little, but you don't notice it unless you are looking closely. The interior still looks great. The hinges and latches are very durable. Considering he has worn out briefcases SEVERAL TIMES in only a matter of a few months before, it's a testament to the durability of this briefcase that it has held up over a year now with tough, daily use.

Not to get carried away, but ever since we bought this briefcase I have been marveling about the mere fact of its availability and how spoiled we are in the modern international economy. It is, far and away, the best briefcase I have ever owned. It is sturdy, well-made, roomy, attractive, and of good materials. I've been carrying briefcases for decades, I'm quite particular about what I like, and in the past the best ones I've owned have cost a few hundred dollars. This is better than any of them, by every measure, and yet I got it for $60. This in turn has led me to reflect on how miraculous it is that I could order, acquire and own such thing without leaving my house -- amazon itself is a pretty amazing development compared to the purchasing methods of my youth -- and then there is the fact of instant access to the lowest-possible price for the highest-quality material. Not everything is perfect in our modern economic world, but sometimes we forget what a consumer's paradise we live in. Seriously, I do wonder sometimes if modern discontent and anger is more of a product of luxury than it is of deprivation. It's crazy that such a fine briefcase is available for $60 -- just as it's crazy that so many of the things we can buy now are so inexpensive. Every time I use it (and that's every day), I think of this. I've had it for a full year now and it barely shows any wear, it's holding up better than any previous briefcase. Thanks for indulging my philosophizing on the matter.

This is a good, full size briefcase, 13" X 18" inside, with expandable thickness. It is attractive and generally well made. It is similar to others I have owned that lasted 3 years or more of daily use. It is covered in what looks like a good quality synthetic leather, firmly glued at all the edges so that it doesn't seem as if it will peel away any time soon. The weak point on every one of these I have owned is the latches, which are zinc die cast and eventually will break. If there is some porosity defect that wouldn't show on the surface one of the latches will break within the warranty period and I could get a replacement. If not, it will last many years. So far so good.

I bought this for a gift and I was impressed with the quality and the locking system is easy to set.

Arrived safely in a protective box exactly one day after ordering. Looks great and is functional. The leather cover is more durable and plush than my last "leather-like" briefcase. Lots of space to carry my work computer, files and personal net book when traveling. The inner suede lining is soft and looks good. Easy to set combination lock and hinges "lock" to keep the briefcase from closing unexpectedly. I do wish it could be shoulder carried like my last one, but I'm not complaining. A worthwhile investment in a professional looking briefcase.

It's a good value. I previously had the Samsonite, and this appears to be the same quality - just at a much better price point.
