Review: It Works (instructions included here) - Has worked perfectly for about a month so far, but just to be completely clear, this a bare bulb without honeycomb or aluminum shell; you need both to operate it, which can be salvaged from the old bulb. It's aftermarket, and it isn't quite plug-and-play. Installation is a bit annoying but straightforward enough and inexpensive. Cut power at the breaker and at the furnace. After removing the original assembly from the vent, I unscrewed the bulb housing and pulled it off enough to grip the ceramic base and pull the old bulb out. The housing can't be fully removed while the bulb is plugged in. The bulb was a very snug fit but wiggled free. Once separated, I had to drill out one aluminum pop rivet from the aluminum sheet that folds around the honeycomb. Then I bent back the aluminum on one side enough to push the bulb through from the bottom out that side. Installation is essentially the reverse, requiring no other modifications. It's a somewhat delicate process, and clean gloves help in case you accidentally touch the bulb (I did), but I imagine most could handle it just fine. I also shifted the old O-rings onto the ceramic end of the new bulb, which doesn't come with them. I don't know that they're critical parts, but they may reduce movement within the housing. The aluminum housing remained bent, and I didn't bother to replace the rivet. But the screws for attaching the bulb housing to the full assembly keep it in place. UPDATE, 1/1/2018: It still appears to be functioning, as the excessively bright blue/violet indicator light is still on (not sure if it's an active LED or passive window leaking light from the UV bulb). I can't personally vouch for any effect of the UV system at all (or any UV system). I have since learned that the metals used in the honeycomb are active ingredients in air scrubbing systems, so I can't say whether reuse changes effectiveness outside of the first few days using a new unit. Surface area is low at this scale, however, so I doubt it matters much.
Review: Worked great. Simple to replace! - Worked great. UV light is now on. Bulbs that were sent were identical to what was already in my units. AC guy wanted $700 to replace both of my lights. All I had to do was unscrew the air scrubber unit and then unscrew the two screws that’s held in the honeycomb assembly. Mine had a red rubber washer around the base of the bulb on the inside. Wiggled the bulb until I could pull it out. Don’t do this too hard because you don’t want to break the old bulb. Mine also had a black foam piece to support the light. I found it was easiest to plug in the bulb first, then position the foam in the back of the unit and finally place the honeycomb back horizontally so the foam wouldn’t fall out of place. Screwed everything back in and the UV light came back on. So simple and saved a ton of money. Can’t believe the markup the AC companies charge to replace. Replacing the bulb only is a harder job than replacing the entire honeycomb assembly and it took about 5 min each to replace. We’ll see how long the bulbs work for, but for now I’m very satisfied. My air scrubbers are ActiveTek Induct 2000.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I'm looking for the non-ozone replacement cell for the activtek 2000 air scrubber**
A: I have 2 activTek Induct 750/2000 air purification enhancement systems installed, one on each a/c system. I use this bulb as a replacement bulb. Yes, you cannot use the rubber ring like the original one had, but the system seems to function the same. Did I void my warranty by using these bulbs, yep, I did. But my a/c contractor wanted $450 to replace the bulb and Amazon has one for approx. $35. No brainier.

**Q: Is this bulb a compatible replacement for the Volara UV bulb, #: 14-00048-001R ?**
A: I don't know. I ordered it for a replacement on ACTIVTEK INDUCT 2000.

**Q: How do you remove the aluminum honey comb frame to access the bulb? I was able to slip the bulb through but was unable to attach the rubber O rings**
A: You can leave the rubber O ring off. It keeps the bulb from sliding out but if you reassemble the bulb into the honeycomb properly (get the lead end seated up) you can plug it in and screw the honeycomb screws down and its secure. This bulb is the ozone version.

**Q: Will this bulb also work with an EcoQuest Fresh air Ductworx unit? It looks like the same thing.**
A: I'm sorry I really don't know.
