GM Genuine Parts 25950499 Vapor Canister Vent Valve

This part fit my 08 Trailblazer base. Took me minutes to install and it allowed me to clear the obd code for good.

Product works as expected no more enigne code on. Seems lighter than one I replaced. Had code P0440

Used in 2004 Cadillac XLR. So far so good. Easy to install is relative - difficult to get to, but went together as expected. Wiring Plug fits - ordered what should have been the same part from a different seller & wiring plug did not fit [it was too square]. Value for Money - time will tell. Gave it 5 stars. If it lasts its well worth the money [will update if things change] Vehicle is running great.

I first did the basic step to purchase an ACDELCO Gas Cap OE replacement for my GMC ENVOY SLT 2002. After changing oxygen sensors, camshaft sensor, catalytic converter, etc. The code P0440 popped for a month (February-April), since I did my research and studied the exhaust better since a P0440 code is an indication of a LARGE LEAK on the EXHAUST SYSTEM OR EVAP SYSTEM, I knew it was a bad Gas Cap. Then it turns out to be the vacuum pressure not being able to flow accurately and with good control. So! THAT LEAD ME TO THE PURGE SOLENOID (EXIT Solenoid as I like to call it since it purges out the air that the VENT VALVE takes in), and it took me to the VENT VALVE SOLENOID (THE ENTRANCE SOLENOID). I went ahead and purchased both Purge and Vent together, went to my mechanic, and it turns out that both were bad, specially VENT VALVE. When you blow air inside the vent valve, it was not closed, which means its bad. Both met great expectations and its been 1 week and a half, and my dashboard has no check engine light whatsoever. I was receiving a P0442 EVAP slow leak error code on my GMC. After some research, I determined this component was faulty in my vehicle. I ordered and installed it a few weeks ago and have had no additional codes since replacement.

It was strange that valve wasn't marked, but as a previous reviewer mentioned, the original didn't have markings. Installed easily, and the computer isn't complaining.

On my 2006 trailblazer SS AWD it's located on the front side of the rear axle by the gas tank so I didn't have to remove the spare tire but it did give me a little more room to slide in from the back. Now the gas pump doesn't keep kicking off while I'm trying to fill it up.

Replaced gas cap first, cleared and error came back. Then replaced vent valve, cleared and error did not come back. Took 30min to change. 25 min of that was to trying to remove the U clip and remove existing valve due to rust build up. Had to reset the PCM (remove fuse 10 and 28 for 15min) as reader came back with possible error with throttle body. Anyhow, engine sounded better idling and felt smoother while driving.

Fits as expected

Plugged it in. Cleared the code. Has not returned. Fixed my emission problem.
