I should have heeded the reviews
The product does not work and was a complete waste of money. Although assembled properly and the green light came on, that is the only thing the unit did. Nothing more and certainly not as described or shown in the video. So a week in, the unit smells and we had to manually scoop. If I had kept the box, it would be returned. The seller in good faith should refund.

Amazing
This litter tray is amazing, it is worth the money spent, great value. It is a much more budget friendly option than some of these robot trays that work with sensors, and much safer too because it doesn't rely on sensors to work, so you have no worries at all about it failing or trapping/hurting your cat. It is pretty easy to put together when you first get it, you're just sticking some of the big parts together. You need to find a good place for it, it will need to be close to a socket and it is quite big so you will need a decent size space for it. My cat didn't take to the tray straight away, which I expected because he kicks up a fuss whenever I've gotten him a new tray. Once I had the new tray in place I moved his old tray next to the new one. He continued to use his old tray but I wouldn't clean it out, so he had to move over to his new tray. This little stand off shouldn't last too long because cats want to use clean litter trays, so you don't need to worry about having a dirty litter tray for long. This tray works by constantly moving, at such a slow rate you can barely see it happening, so your cat doesn't notice that it's happening either when it's doing his/her business. As it moves round the litter tray the business gets caught on the conveyor belt and makes it's way into the bin at the back. I put a bag in this bin so that I can just take it out rather than have to keep cleaning it, but you don't have to do that, I just find it easier and quicker. The business is constantly being removed from the tray, so you only have to top up the litter and empty the bin most of the time. It does still need a full clean out every so often just so that it can have a wipe down and get any dirty litter that might not have made it up the conveyor. (There's not lots of this, just the litter 'dust' that's too small to go up the conveyor) You don't have to do a full clean very often, so it's a million times better than having to be cleaning the litter tray every day. It's so convenient and takes away the hassle of cleaning the litter tray all the time. I would recommend it to anyone with a cat, it's worth it's weight in gold.

Great till it stops working
It’s fantastic, until the motor stops working. We have it on a timer so it comes on every other half hour, for half an hour. Our first one suddenly started making loud noises from the motor contacted customer services as it hadn’t been a year, followed what they said, still had the issue so they sent us a replacement. Set it up solid red light, contacted customer services was ignored but the problem went away, now the problem is back. If it worked I would happily pay for another to have two running in the house, and recommend to family and friends, such a shame it only works for a bit 😩

Does the job (almost)
Really like the fact that I no longer have to attend the cat litter daily as the automation works. You need to use a good quality cat litter for this to work. There is a design flaw which will not be fixed anytime soon according to the manufacturers. Clumps of urine are not removed from the edge circumference (about 5cm) of the litter. This means that you have to manually push the clump to the middle for it to them be removed automatically. Unfortunately my cat always urinates towards the edge so I’m pushing the clumps to the middle of the litter on a daily basis. This means I’m not able to fully take advantage of this automation.

Its great. For a while then it all goes downhill
This really helped with our 3 cats however due to urine the clumping litter gets stuck to the bottom meaning you have to scrape it off, so using non-clumping is best however this means that faeces especially particularly wet bowel movements may get stuck on the ladder. The idea IS good but the motor isnt the greatest and ive already had to replace this once in a year and you are only allowed 2 replacements. The motor is now overheating again and making a loud clicking so we will need to get a 2nd replacement. Someone mentioned that its quicker to just use a scooper and a litter box and I believe theyre right, changing this is indeed a huge faff which isnt present with simply changing a box however for 3 cats, changing twice a week does mean its not unsightly for ages like it would be with a box. Verdict: keep the money and save for one of the more expensive ones that seems to be built better

Really decent with the right cat litter, but wow it's expensive
Despite having 4 cats this was bought for one that needed a fairly sterile environment after medical treatment. Otherwise I wouldn't have bought it at full price, because it's just very expensive for what is essentially some injection-moulded plastic, a motor, an LED, a microswitch and a power supply. Also, it's quite large - probably larger than you expect. My initial impression wasn't great either. The microswitch for the poop bucket is finicky and unless it registers the bucket being in properly then nothing turns. Note once you have the required green light it turns very, very slowly. So slowly that you have to watch for a little while to see that it is moving. And then it clogged. Multiple times. It could easily have got a 1 star review, but I remembered seeing someone recommend the world's best cat litter for it. That's a non-clay clumping litter. And ... that's what it needs. If you get non-clumping cat litter this just won't work properly as the wet littler will not be collected. If you get standard clumping cat litter then the clay will form a sticky layer at the bottom and gum up the mechanism, stopping it turning and risking burning out the motor. Get a clumping cat litter that doesn't have any clay or other powdery element and it does a good job. While that's a more expensive cat litter it's still much cheaper than the crystal trays of the other self-cleaning litter tray. Even with that I still have caveats. Because it takes a long time to rotate the poop will stay around for a while, so it's not suitable for all environments. Additionally, emptying the bowl is more hassle than a normal cat litter box because it's a) big, b) heavy once filled with cat litter, c) somewhat flexible, d) not really designed for tipping out he contents as some bits just push together, and e) you can't fit any kind of bag to the main tray. It's proved useful for our cat because she'd started (disgustingly) sitting in the litter tray when ill and the rotation incidentally stopped that, too, and it kept things cleaner for her, but I'd guess that most people would find it's actually no less hassle overall than using litter tray liners and just grabbing out the liner and putting in a new liner and litter. It's then hard to justify the price tag generally - if it was £50-60 I could recommend it, but at over £100 it's just expensive for what you get, however good it's been for our particular need.

Very expensive for what it does - or doesn't do in our case
We have 3 cats and decided to invest in this item. It broke down about 2 months ago and despite our efforts refuses to work. We are pensioners living on a limited income and this is quite a blow - I would not recommend it on any level. I suspect that it is under guarantee, but there is no mention of that. We are very unhappy customers.
