It took me a few runs of rapid 15a charge to get it to register. I was running it then it would show bad battery. I kept cycling the 50a start cycle then 15a rapid charge cycle then over again maybe 5-6 times till the voltage started to come up past 10v. The charger would try to charge but only get to 4a then next time 6a, then keep going with the cycles until I got to 15a and then the 15a charge cycle got it going without issue. Did a full 15a where it went into float mode. Then did a recondition cycle. This cycle takes a couple days but for batteries costing 200+ these days, this was the perfect alternative. Works great and would recommend to anyone needing a charger. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Really impressed with initial use of battery charger not perfect but very usable functions work *by C***0 on Reviewed in the United States on July 8, 2022* Honestly I would give it a full 5 Stars if they had a tougher housing on it and larger text/meters on the display. They have a large display area but actual text or meters on it are smaller than they need to be. Plastic case works and fits nice but it does not appear to be sturdy for the long-term use but time will tell on that. Operation of it is straightforward with a very detailed to the point user manual. Voltage check, alternator check, normal charge cycle with real-time amps monitoring is super handy/informative. Nice compact size with heavy duty battery clamps. If it holds up after repeated use I will be very happy with it. Actually I haven't used the 50 amp battery boost function but since all the other functions work as described I would be that works fine too. I have a compact instant battery starter so I did not buy this battery charger for the start/boost function. Looks like this same unit is marketed under a few other brand names probably made by the same outfit?
