desertcart.com: Ghostly Murder (PI Assistant Extraordinaire Mystery: a cozy mystery on Kindle Unlimited Book 1) eBook : Smith, Lotta, Tree Editing, Hot: Kindle Store Review: The New Sherlock Holmes! - With characters and crime-solving skills reminiscent of Sherlock Holmes, this is one mystery drama that anyone would love to read. Smith's novel: Ghostly Murder follows the newest crime-fighting duo, Archangel and Kinki, otherwise known as the eccentric transvestite Michael Archangel and his assistant Kelly Kinki, or Mrs. K as she would prefer to be called for some pretty obvious reasons. Filled with puns and witty references, not to mention breaking the fourth wall a time or two, this novel was a treat read. Kelly is a warm, incredibly relatable "every girls" type of girl, as she herself points out, she not some forensic genius or master crime-solver. Instead, she's a divorcee who happened to find herself in the position of personal assistant to a private investigator. Her lack of expertise is what allows the reader to relate to her, and is how Smith guides them through the mystery of solving the crime. Smith's writing style is straightforward and to the point, which keeps the pace moving along quickly. The story is meat and bones, without the unnecessary fluff that so many authors today feel the need to add. Overall it was a highly enjoyable book that I would recommend to anyone looking for a fun light-hearted mystery! Review: Three Stars - fun read

Oddball Characters
Interesting dialogue between only characters and a somewhat interesting mystery. Reminiscent of Neto Wolf except this character is a cross dresser. Different

Brilliant! Exciting from the start!
I really enjoyed reading Ghostly Murder, it has everything to keep you hooked, and not wanting to let go. Lotta Smith has really managed to capture everything that makes an exciting, and fun mystery tale. It is written in the words of Kelly Kinky, and she really draws you into the story. Kelly is the assistant of the brilliant detective Michael Archangel, and together they make a great crime solving team. Overall a very worthy read! I highly recommend this book! five really big stars from me :)

Not what I was expecting
Nothing supernatural or ghostly about this book. The crime was mediocre. The majority of the book was the two main characters insulting each other. IMO

Um. Okay
I gave this a 1 star simply because it was free. This book was the most ridiculous story I've ever read. I forced myself to finish just to see how this " mystery" concluded. This was my first, and last, Lotta book. It would be fine for a middle school kid but that may even be insulting the intelligence of a 12 yr old.

Short short story
I was surprised at how short this story was. I'm going to read the next book. I didn't get enough information about the characters, their relationship, their personalities or work and living space. It felt as if the story ended before it began.

The locked room Murder
Kelly and her PI boss Michael Archangel are on the case. Who killed the famous sushi chef? How was the crime committed? Her cross dressing boss has it all figured out, but how does he do it. Lots of fun and an easy read.

Well written, but I kinda got a bit lost. But that is probably me and trying to read at 3am

It just is not my taste. Both parts were too short and too over the top. Perhaps longer pieces would have some meat.

Ok, so here is the thing.... It clearly states it is only 60 pages, so it is going to be short!!! However, I thought the characters and plot were good and the dialogue between the two main characters was funny. There were a couple of times where I did laugh out loud! A nice easy read perfect for holiday reading. I would like to read more..... ๐๐๐

I liked this short novel which introduced some great characters. A great start to a series and a lot of promise for future novels.
