Buy ASO Ankle Stabilizing Orthosis w/inserts (Large - Black) on desertcart.com ✓ FREE SHIPPING on qualified orders Review: Great, Amazing, Wonderful Brace. - Wow. I have been an desertcart Prime member for 3+ years and I have never written a review for any product. This ankle brace was so amazing that I felt compelled to do so. I am 33 years old and work out 6 days/week. I have been a sprinter and basketball player my entire life and have never had an ankle injury of any kind. A month ago, when coming down from a rebound, I landed on an opposing player's foot, and got a high ankle sprain. It swelled and felt terrible. Two weeks later, I'm feeling better and ready to give it a go. The same exact thing happens...down from a rebound, land right on someone's foot...BOOM, it swells up again. I rested another two weeks, but this time, I purchased this ASO brace (from desertcart) to try out when I played. I have over 7 hours of basketball time in (since then) and this brace has worked wonders. No pain, no restricted movement, and because it's not cumbersome, I can still wear my low top Kobe's while playing. I love this brace and will continue to wear it for the rest of my playing days. *Side Note* - The brace comes with two plastic stabilizer inserts. I did not use them with the product. Review: Good Quality Ankle Brace - I have had bad ankles for years and have tried many different braces. These work quite well and give good support while fitting into most shoes. They are a bit of a pain to lace up and then wrap the straps in a figure 8 wrap, but this also allows one to adjust them easily. Once you learn how tight or loose you need them it is not hard at all. But it will take a few minutes to get them on. If you have limited use of your hands or can't bend over easily you will need help putting them on. I don't use them for athletic purposes but can see how they would be very good for that too.

False advertisement, no ankle inserts.
This ankle brace does not come with ankle inserts as advertised and there is no opening to put inserts in.

Good support for Basketball and Racquetball
I sprang my ankle badly playing basketball and at over 40 years old, it took longer than 2 months to heal. Bought this to prevent that from happening again. This brace gives very good support. The slots allow you to insert the included plastic inserts for more support, but the plastic they give you are so flexible, it doesn't do much. Even without the inserts, it is very good. I wanted more, so I used a wire coat hanger and bent it like a long U shape bar. Filed the ends so it won't cut the brace cloth. Inserted these into the slots and the support is excellent. To use the brace, tie the lace up. Then wrap the 2 long side straps around both sides and velcro them tight. Then the last velcro Elastic large band goes last to cover the top of the ankle. Use this with good high top shoes and sprang ankles should be a thing of the past.

Brace yourself
This brace receives high ratings everywhere I have checked and the price was comparable to others so I thought it was worth a try. I ordered this after I rolled my ankle badly to protect from future injuries when I play volleyball. It seems to work fine, it is just a precaution and I do not know if my ankle would be able to roll if put in a position to do so. One of my main concerns was whether it would fit comfortably in my sneaker, and it does fit without any discomfort or excessive stretching. Maybe need to pull the tongue out a little extra before putting my foot in. The plastic inserts are relatively bendy and I do not know how much stability they contribute (I also have the model of this brace without the inserts, which is slightly thinner). Putting the brace on isn't difficult, takes about an extra minute. I was initially against getting the lace up kind because I thought they'd take forever but this is not the case. Seems like this will be durable and last a long time, only time will tell. I would recommend this brace if concerned about ankle stability or recovering from injury.

An Excellent Orthosis
I twisted the heck out of my ankle and needed to stabilize the joint. I looked at several reviews from running sites, and the ASO consistently came in first in support. I used their sizing guide based on shoe size, and got the right size on the first try. It takes me about a minute to put on the orthosis, but it is *well* worth it. I have no issue with it fitting into my shoe and the stability it has provided is outstanding. 3 weeks after my injury, I'm back to running, and just the other day I stepped on the edge of a paver and the brace held my ankle from rolling. If your ankle is compromised and prone to rolling, I *HIGHLY* recommend this device. it's worked *great* for me.

This was recommended by my surgeon as the next step after a boot for post-op support after an Achilles tear. It doesn't do what I needed it to do - keep your foot from pointing too far up. Size was good for men's size 10.5.

Falsely advertised as being the model with the extra support of side-stabilising strips. It is not this model, and is the less supportive/cheaper version.
