Planting in a Post-Wild World

This book is great! It breaks down the ecological and designed principles for naturalistic planting. The book puts together all the relevant principles/theories behind creating naturalistic planting designs. It gives landscape professionals a clear framework to set landscape goals, select and layer plants. While the book is largely aimed at American landscape the principles can be applied anywhere in the world.

This is the most informative and practical guide on native plant gardens imaginable. I read it straight through and have learned so much. It is well organized and easy to use as a reference as needed. Photos and diagrams are beautiful and helpful. I did have to refer to google for the common names because the genus species was used most of the time. That makes sense because a common name often is used for very different plants.

Alles in Ordnung.

This is an excellent book, aimed at the American market but appropriate anywhere. It's a reminder for professionals to use plants as they would be found naturally fulfilling their niche role and for the every day gardener a thought provoking book which helps illustrate how and why plants grow together and what type of plants to use where.

Compré este libro como regalo para una amiga que ama las plantas y fue todo un éxito! El libro está muy bien ilustrado, con imágenes claras y detalladas que lo hacen un placer de hojear. Ofrece muchísima información práctica sobre el cuidado de las plantas, desde consejos de riego hasta requisitos de luz, perfecto tanto para principiantes como para expertos. El diseño es limpio y fácil de seguir, y los consejos están escritos de una manera cercana y motivadora. A mi amiga le encantó. Lo recomiendo mucho como un regalo o para darte un capricho si te gustan las plantas!
