A review for tampons??? Yikes. But incase anyone needs help in this area the way I did…. Here goes…. Personal womanly details warning!!! How am I just finding out about ultra tampons? I didn’t know these existed until scouring Target trying to find something that might actually allow me to finish my grocery shopping without hemorrhaging all over the floor. I’m 43. Since turning 40 my periods have been off and on. When they are on, they make up for the few months with nothing! I didn’t know what perimenopausal cycles could be like! I would use a super tampon and a pad but will still sometimes leak clumps? (Sorry!) or thicker blood clots would somehow slide past the fresh tampon and out onto my pad or even down my leg at times. It was so gross and horrible. I had 2 back to back IUDs for about 10 years and I didn’t get a period often with those in place. So I wasn’t sure if it was because I was making up for not getting a period often from that, or just being 40! Over the past 3 years I have struggled and often won’t leave the house for the first 2 days of my period. I have to change often, and sit on a towel whenever I go. I stumbled upon ultra tampons at Target and grabbed a small box for right then. It worked! I made it through the store and home and nothing leaked onto my pad. Other women will know how much of a victory this is! The price at Target was not good but I was desperate. I found a better deal on Amazon subscription and it works out nicely to have these on hand for the first few days of my cycle. I find them a little too ultra to use on my less heavy days. I hope this helps another woman the way it helped me so you can get back to living your life. I wish someone had told me!

These are my favorite tampons. I have a heavy period ever since I had my daughter, 8 years ago, and I have to wear one of these and a pad for the first 2-3 days each month. I have to make sure I change it out every 2 hours or I leak. These make me feel secure and I am able to be worry free for a few hours. They go in easily and come out easily too. I like to plastic applicator as opposed to the cardboard, this is not the 1960's anymore. I do buy this box once every few months to keep stocked.

I’m not sure why these aren’t available in the UK—they really should be! While they’re on the pricier side, the peace of mind they offer makes them absolutely worth it. I wore one during a half marathon and felt reassured the entire time, unlike with typical supermarket alternatives that would’ve left me worrying throughout the run.
