It was easy to use right out of the box and i bought it since they aren't making older IDE hard drive any more and the trend is to upgrade to SD hard drives. The device works great on making copies of flash drives and it also supports SD cards so it's ausome to have!!! I'm not sure if you have to buy the StarTech.com brand of memory card adapters but I did since they where only $20.00 either way this was the best one for it's value and it works great for doing backups!
