Amazing. Beautiful. Brilliant. One of a Kind. Unique. Fabulous.
This was the EASIEST boba to make ever. I’ve tried several times to make boba pearls from my local asian market that were super cheap and in huge batches, but had no clear instructions on how to make them. This package actually came with quite a lot of pearls despite being a small package (it was filled to the brim, barely any space left), and had CLEAR english instructions! It said to use 10 cups of water but I was able to pass with much less after reading a comment mentioning it doesn’t really matter, and the pearls cooked to be so soft and squishy without falling apart in quite literally 5 minutes, so the package didn’t lie like i was afraid it might have. They have no real taste which I think is great because I like boba for the texture, and I was able to sweeten them with a little bit of pure cane sugar. I didn’t even have to sweeten my tea because it made the tea sweet with the pearls! Absolutely love this boba and I dont think i’ll ever buy another brand. I’d also like to mention that another review stated this was expensive for the amount, but I cannot stress enough how untrue this is. In the states (unless you’re in NY or Cali with a heavy asian population), boba tea goes for about $4-$6 per regular size cup. The fact that I could make 8-10 servings from this bag pays off that expense already, not to mention the fact that tea (or whatever drink you’re putting this in) is never going to be any more expensive than the pearls. The price is honestly too low for what you receive, and the quality is amazing. This is my best purchase and will be saving me the money from going on boba runs every other day.

Great Tapioca Pearls!
I bought this product because I LOVE boba, but bubble tea from my local shop is around $5.50 per cup. At the mall, it's around $9.00. This bag has around 5 servings for $5.00. That's a steal! The cost is around a dollar for every 1/3 cup. The bobas take around 5-10 minutes to cook depending on the temperature of your stove. If you follow the directions, (10 cups water per 1 cup boba pearls, let water boil and pour pearls in, then let bubbles float to the top and simmer to soften the pearls,) the bobas come out perfectly. I recommend adding brown sugar or honey to sweeten the pearls. They taste great served hot or cold. I like to have them with a smoothie or hot tea or coffee. Overall, these pearls are the bang for your buck! I have tried other brands such as 'Buddha Bubbles', however they are more expensive and have a different taste than those from the shop. These inexpensive, great flavor bobas are the best. I definitely recommend. EDIT: I noticed that the price of these had risen to 8.99, (now they are back to 5.99) and wanted to see if I could find a brand with a better price but similar pearls. I ended up trying E-Fa's Rainbow tapioca pearls and they were AMAZING! The E-Fa Rainbow tapioca pearls were 11.55 for a 2.2 pound bag of tapioca pearls (compare to WufuYaun 5.99 for 8 ounces.) I will list the pros and cons for each brand. WufuYaun: The WufuYaun pearls are the perfect size and most likely what your used to. These pearls taste exactly like boba pearls from the tea shop. There texture is more chewy than comparable pearls. Keep this is mind as some people prefer other textures. Though the pearls themselves are great, they are more expensive than E-Fa tapioca pearls. E-Fa Tapioca Pearls: These pearls are great! They are a bit smaller than the WufuYaun tapioca pearls, however they fit perfectly for any/all buble tea drinks. I personally like these flavour better. They are sweeter than the pearls from WufuYaun. I find the WufuYaun tapioca pearls stay soft for a longer time. These bobas are much better, however price wise. For a 11.50 you can get 2.2 pounds of great tasting boba pearls. I like these pearls the best, mainly because they are a cheaper option. However, WufuYaun pearls are great, too.

It’s what you hope do
I gave it five stars for flavor because it has none and that’s really how it’s supposed to be until you mix it in with a drink, lol. These expand, feel and taste like boba from any good boba spots I’ve been too. Packaging is 4 stars because resealable packaging would be nice but I just used a clip and refrigerated. Perfect for making some at home and saving a little money. I mixed some in with Thai tea and I’m very pleased. The price was a bit higher than I wished and the bag appears small, but it’s really not that bad. I just happen to really like a lot of boba when I add it. But these do expand really well when prepared. I’d show a pic of what they look like when boiling/boiled, but review pics have tended to be the last thing on my mind when preparing some. I just want the boba haha... I gave it 5 stars for “warmth” (idk what amazon wants), because boba drinks do warm my heart.

Perfect, Quick, Delicious
First of all, the shipping time was amazing! I don't know if I was just lucky but I got these a good week and a half before I was expecting them to arrive. As for the product itself- I love these! They are ridiculously easy to make and they taste (and feel!) great. Every batch I've made have come out perfectly gummy. I LOVE to put them in milkshakes. The instructions on the back will work fine, but I always put sugar into the water. Oh, speaking of water, put WAYYYYY LESS than they tell you to. That's just a waste of water. All these babies need is enough room to float, so an inch of water is fine. The 10:1 ratio that they suggest is unnecessary. I usually don't make a lot of pearls at once since I'm the only one eating, so my ratio is something like: 1/4 cup of tapioca - 1/4 cup of sugar - enough water to let them float. Obviously the float amount depends on your pot size. The cooking time really is about 5 minutes. I was skeptical but they came out great. They're pretty particular about how to cook them but honestly one time I just let them boil for an unknown amount of minutes (oops) and the sugar water had turned into caramel water (brown and sweet-smelling) as the liquid evaporated away. I took one pearl out, blew on it to cool it down and ate it. It was just as gummy as any other time I had made them, and also sweet because of the "caramel water." I would give them a rinse before boiling, they come packed with each pearl coated in powder. It says it's safe on the packaging but might as well rinse it before eating. I enjoy these a lot!

Moisture in bags
I purchased two bags of these boba tapioca balls. Upon receiving them, both bags contained moisture as many other reviews have mentioned. As I am currently in lockdown due to the Covid-19 virus, everything “nonessential” in my state is closed, including tea and boba shops. Being desperate for a Thai tea with boba, I cooked and enjoyed the boba despite the moisture in the bag. They came out great. I was skeptical I could make something as yummy as a boba shop, but nevertheless they turned out very good. I did take the recommendation of another reviewer and sweetened them in a simple syrup made from 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 cup water boiled for 30 seconds and cooled with ice. Put the boba from the pan into the cool syrup mixture and they were sweet and the perfect texture. I followed boiling instructions for boba that were on the bag(they do have them in English unlike another reviewer has mentioned) The moisture problem needs to be corrected, but desperate times call for desperate measures and I’m still alive so that’s a good sign! ;) In my opinion one bag is the right amount for 5 drinks. Also, avoid cooking too much because their consistency doesn’t hold up well being refrigerated in my opinion. From now on I will cook enough for 2 drinks at a time.

So Simple to make and they are perfect just like a Bubble Tea café
I surprised my daughter with a Bubble Tea gift basket set that I made up with everything she can possibly think of to make at least three different flavors of Bubble Tea and we used the Boba for Thai iced tea as well . We both really love Boba/ Bubble Tea. The tapioca pearls were perfect, they are super easy to make! I just googled recipes on how to sweeten them and the first time I made quite a bit extra and I had to refrigerate them . Refrigerating them made them hard but I was able to google a way to refresh them and soften them up. They are just as good as any bubble tea cafe I have had them in . We really are excited to try the white pearls that they sell and I’m going to order them next. I highly recommend the product . If you are making bubble tea for more than one person and planning to do it more than once I would order at least two bags . The small bag I ordered was enough for about 6 large cups of Bubble Tea. Like I said they were really easy to work with, it just required boiling water and adding sweetener. I used honey and cane sugar to sweeten them. I cooked them on a high boil for about five minutes and then covered on medium low for about another five minutes then I shut the heat off and let them sit for about another five minutes and that definitely made them soft enough. We really had a fun time making our Bubble Tea and it is so much cheaper to make at home! Spending a few hundred dollars on the gift basket was a good investment. I was spending at least $20 for the both of us every time we went for Bubble Tea which was a few times a week... Of course you don’t need to spend that much on making some Bubble Tea at home I just wanted to buy her a nice gift basket with a few powders and a few teas, Glass straws, A tea kettle with infuser, A few tea bottles with infusers, and of course the Boba which seemed to be a very good price!

Moisture in package, but BOBA IS GOOD TO EAT!
Moisture was found in package like many other reviewers mentioned, but I read the package, and it said it was safe for consumption :) The moisture comes from a difference in storing temperatures as the package moves facilities. Now, I did follow the cooking instructions for boba tea, but it tasted pretty weird, and I thought to myself maybe the moisture does make the boba taste bad? I didn't have any stomach problems, so I decided to make some more the next day. Today was my third time trying the boba- and I was wrong about the quality!! I boiled water first, added the boba, and pretty soon the pearls floated to the top. I then turned the heat to half and cooked the boba further for 30 more minutes. After cooking the boba, I let it sit in a concoction of brown sugar and honey for about 15 minutes. I don't mind warmer boba in a cold drink, but if you do, you could just let it sit for longer. It tastes WAY different (in a good way) and closer to how the boba tastes from various tea shops I usually order boba from. The texture is softer, too, and that is how I like my boba. I used to live in San Jose and got boba pretty much every day. I moved two years ago, and it wasn't a problem getting my fix of boba living 2 hours away since I still worked in San Jose. But now, amidst a pandemic, I almost never get to have boba tea. This is an awesome product, and I am so glad to have given it multiple tries. I made oolong black tea and added salted cheese foam with other products I have found through Amazon. I highly recommend this product!!
