Like most of the reviewers, we just had our roof replaced and we were in "Nail-City" (including 4" screws). The contractor did do a pretty good job but after running this magnet rake over the driveway and paver blocks all I can say is OMG! It was awesome running the rake and hearing the "click-click-click" of everything metal being picked up by the magnet! Amazing. It's a very goof feature to be able to adjust the height. I did set it on the highest and wondered if it would be effective but it certainly was. The quality of the handle is a little suspect as it moves around in its setting and gives you a "cheap" feel to it. The magnet and housing is quality. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to keep their floors free of metal items - a very good workshop clean up tool as well. Great investment - saves tires and nails in your boots or sneakers and maybe a trip to your Doctor.

Great size. It helped a lot after demo of a shed. It picks up all sorts of metal.

I bought this product 3 years ago to pick up metal, like bottle caps, on the beaches in Grenada in the Caribbean. The product worked well but was a little too low for the uneven surface around the beaches and the wheels were a little too narrow to push or pull on the sand. BTW Pulling is much easier on the sand. So I put new wheels, a bit larger in diameter and I double them. I get pretty much the same power to pick up the metal and the wheels do not sink in the sand as much. When the bottle cap is encrusted in the grass, I just give it a twist my the plastic spade. Which I had to do anyway even before I replaced the wheels.

Works great! Used it for roofing nails in grass and limestone gravel driveway. Loud PLINLK PLINK PLINK of nails getting tucked up. Handle makes it incredibly EASY to drop all the nail at once! Only complaint is long pushing handle held on by only one bolt, so it is not solid, floppy. It needs another mounting bolt above or below

This has been a surprisingly necessary tool for the homestead. It is lightweight but very effective. Our homestead is located on an old home place and apparently every time it rains, a new crop of rusty nails rises to the top of the ground. When you drag it across the driveway, you can hear little pings of the metal hitting the magnet. When you're ready to clean it, you pull the handle and it releases the magnet and all of the debris comes off very easily. It's a great and handy tool.

Solid. Well built. Works great Update: this thing is fantastic. It’s already saved me money. My truck and trailer tires are 500.00 dollars a piece.

This tool has been a godsend. Had a new roof installed and it is inevitable that nails will be left in the yard. I had several magnets on sticks (with and without wheels) that I was using. Being that the widest was only 1 foot, it meant that you could not cover a lot of ground very quickly. The two foot width was perfect and the larger wheels made the tool glide through the yard much easier than any of the magnet tools I already had. At the lowest setting, it did not get hung up very often on my uneven yard. This tool was finding nails in areas that I thought had been gone over thoroughly. As someone else commented, as soon as you hear the clink of the nail hitting the magnetic bar, you must stop and remove it as the grass brushing across the surface will most often push it off again if you continue. It does slow down the cleanup process, but is absolutely necessary. I am sure on smooth surfaces like concrete or asphalt you could pick up lots of metal without stopping, but over grass you must stop immediately when you hear it pick up something. You have to listen to the tool. You will pretty much be able to tell when it has brushed across something metal but didn't pick it up. That is a signal to continue to roll over an area to let the magnet pull the metal up through the tangle of grass until you get the successful click. Shipping was fantastic and received it the next day after ordering and probably saved me three days of additional recovery work. I recovered over 4 pounds of nails and staples in two days using this tool and another half pound going over the yard yet again the next day. Based on that last recovery surveillance I think I will make at least one more pass through the yard before I bring out the lawn tractor. This is a great tool and has been well worth the purchase.
