Great treats, the dogs love them. The ones on top are a good size, but once you get further into the bucket, the pieces get smaller, so I assume they get broken up during transit or something. The texture is good, they're not too dry or crunchy either, so the dogs have no issues chewing them (that is... when they chew... they're basically vacuums for food and snacks). I like that they're just chicken liver and no other additives or anything, so it's not only healthy, but allergen friendly. One of the dogs is allergic to a lot of stuff, so it's one of the few things he can have as a little treat. Their size also makes it great for training, just grab a lil handful and stuff it in your pocket before you head out. The pics I've attached show you the sizes of the treats when the bucket is first opened, and then the other two show when we're getting to the bottom of the bucket. I put a quarter with them on the lid in the third pic to kind of give a size comparison of just a random pour from when the bucket is getting low on treats (the first pic shows the treats are obviously bigger). I don't think it's a big deal, as they probably broke up during processing or transit, but some people might not like it. :)

The review title says it all. Best treat, dogs love them, liver is great for dogs (as everything, in moderation) and awesome American company who stand behind their product. I got a batch with many small pieces (not their fault, due to Amazon doing things like throwing packages at your house while still 10 feet away). They sent me a new bucket in a week, no questions asked. Freeze drying is best process for raw liver and many other dog foods. Keeps most flavor and vitamins without unhealthy process of healing, especially at high temps. Stewart’ does it right, cares for your pet and employs Americans. I don’t write reviews unless I am 100% sure of a product and I have experienced the quality vs value. See pic if you don’t believe me. Buckets make for great reusable food containers. RECYCLE for your children/grandchildren.

Do not buy this dog treat until the manufacturer improves the quality. I hate to write this kind of review. In the past I’ve let negative impressions pass unremarked. However, since this is a food item and cannot be returned, I feel a duty to warn other customers of what to expect. When you open the container the first thing you will notice is the horrendous smell. It doesn’t smell like liver. It smells acrid. Next, there is the appearance and texture. Unlike beef liver, which is dark red-brown, chicken liver is supposed to be light in color. Feeeze dried it should be a yellowish tan color and relatively easy to break into small pieces. This product is dark brown in color—even darker than beef liver treats—and very hard to break into pieces suitable for a small dog or cat. My little Coton de Tulear won’t touch them. Our corgi will eat them, but she would literally eat garbage if we let her. Another customer said he thought the treats might be burnt. I agree. I think something went wrong in the manufacturing process, but the maker decided to sell them anyway. Since so many bad chemical compounds are created when meat is burned, including carcinogens, I’m throwing these Stewart Chicken liver treats out. I’m sorry I wasted my money.

So got two of these yesterday, first Pic shows the amount of two put together, I did read some reviews that said the amount was lacking I don't find that to be true for a topper made in the US I couldn't be more pleased. I have two cat's and bought this as a topper so they would have more protein in there diets. The second Pic shows what I just gave my Penelope for her breakfast. The third Pic shows my Penelope with a full belly.First the smell she went crazy and couldn't wait for her breakfast this morning, I soaked five in warm water and mashed it up added her favorite wet food and she went crazy.She ate every bite. I don't know why I didn't get these sooner.For the money these can't be beat plus there a one ingredient high protein made in the US the quality is outstanding, I'm happy as it's a healthy add to her diet. And the value for me is perfect. All around great product.

My dogs love these treats. My only complaint is like 1/4 of the container is dust and not useable for treats other than maybe on a lick mat. I don't love the high price when a fourth of the product isn't useable for its intended purpose. However, clean ingredients and dogs love. Will buy again, just wish it was less dust.

I suppose the clue should have been in the title but even though the product was freeze dried I was expecting a very different texture. I was expecting something akin to a dried jerky but these treats are very crumbly and powdery, they smell gross and the dog (who will genuinely eat anything!) turns her nose up at them. Not worth the money in my opinion.

My dog loves these. Just the smell alone is enough to grab her attention. So much so that I had her off lead outside and she wouldn't leave my side with these in hand. Her recall is a little sketchy as her distraction rate is high. These really kept her focussed and by my side. I would live give 5 stars but most of what I got was powder. Good for a food topper but not what I ordered or intended.
