I could definitely use this for longer trips and do laundry. I was able to fit several outfits, a pair of sandals, small amount of toiletries, small water bottle, and my medium sized purse. This made me meet the β€œone personal / under seat item” per the airlines cheap ticket. Total weight was 13.5 pounds. I did not have to use the expandable space. Note if you filled it expanded, it would not fit under the seat on the airlines I used this trip (southwest and Alaska). I use ziploc bags to keep everything organized. Only annoyance was there is no water bottle holder. I’m going to get a collapsible bottle and a big carabiner for the next trip. I chose this backpack because it had a chest buckle (which was a bit tight, only used once) and because the straps can be zipped inside (previous experience where an airline made us check a backpack and the strap broke).
