Nice Replacement
Works great, up and running within minutes. Very helpful to keep your old, burnt-out power supply cables plugged in to the PC until its replacement arrives, then just trace the wires one by one and replace the old unit with the new. Also, be sure to unplug the slimline PC from the AC outlet during this hardware transition. Included with my order was a new 3-prong black AC cord, which I used to power my new box, thank you.

Batting a 1,000 for failures
Voltages swing from 100% to 60% and back, with very little load (30 watts). This is the third Apex/Allied power supply we're attempting in this new DM-387 case. The original supply which came in the case had the same problem, as did a replacement that was purchased from Newegg. So, that's three. The PC I'm powering only draws 25 watts (measured). With the overhead, total wattage is 29 watts with a Seasonic 300 (including the CPU, memory, m.2 SSD - no graphics), and it runs totally solid. I'm assuming that these Apex/Allied supplies have a low cutoff (i.e. minimum wattage is prolly 70 or more). The Seasonic does not fit correctly, as the side fan is in it's way. So, I simply removed the fan. I'm assuming that since it only draws 30 watts, it'll be fine. If needed, I'll mount the fan on the case exterior.

An easy computer repair!
I'm not exceptionally experienced in computer hardware repair, so when my computer stopped working, I feared I would be buying a new one. But after a little research, I determined that the most likely cause was the power supply. It was a really easy repair. It took me about 15 minutes to take the old one out and replace it in my HP Pavilion. It saved me a lot of money!

Went into a clients machine, no problems so far.
Clients case only fits this spec psu and it tested okay on my equipment and still works now.

First one had melted wire when it arrived
first one had a melted wire on it when it arrived so i could not install it. The 2nd one I ordered started with the same fan noise as the original so the bearings in these are just not good. I only heard it that one time an have not messed with it yet. I have a replacement ready to go. The other issue is they never make the wires on the connectors long enough. The original PS that was in the machine probably was speced by the MFR to have a longer 4 pin connector wire as they knew they had to run it across the board and under the video card. No other PS I have found has a long enough wire and its always short.

Good TFX supply; verify connectors
The photo shows a 20+4 main power connector but the actual unit has a single 24 pin connector.

Power supply works well as a replacement for a failed power supply in a slim PC case

Tried in vain to get more common TFX PSUs to fit the burned-out PSU that shipped with my Apex DM-387 slimline u-ATX PC case that I bought in 2007. This one fits like the original PSU as it should since this is an Allied product that is the same as the Allied PSU that shipped with the Apex slimline u-ATX PC case. Differences from the old PSU which I believe are improvements: - the motherboard connector has a fixed 24-pin connector vs the original which was 20+4 - two SATA connectors vs the original which had only one - one 4-pin PCIe connector vs the original which did not have one Cons: Noisy fan so I decided to return the item. This may not be a problem depending on the location of your Apex u-Atx PC case.
