Love the watch and the appearance.

I've owned Seiko watches for more than 30 years. They're unsurpassed for quality at a reasonable price. I update the time on my watches when the time zone switches from standard to daylight savings and vice versa. The Seiko watches are never off by more than 20-30 seconds, it that. Resetting the time is also very easy, more than I can say for some watches.

While, at +77 years of age, I focus on collecting and restoring 19th Century Pocket Watches, I also repair standard wrist watches as well. I have owned and enjoyed a number of very high-quality watches - Rolex, Breitling, Fortis, etc. as well as Seiko Hi-Beat which stands with any of the others. SEIKO makes an excellent watch - mechanical and quartz movements. On arrival, I put this Seiko Essentials Day/Date on my Tester and immediately confirmed the Piezoelectric Tuning fork was vibrating correctly at 32,768 KHZ with confirmed coil continuity. I personally enjoy the elegant straight-forward dial + day/date feature. Wrist watch rear case covers come essentially in two flavors - pop-off or screw-down. You'll find virtually ALL quality watches feature a screw-down rear case lid as does this SEIKO Model SUR449 - offering a much greater water resistant factor and guard against debris intrusion. It comes with an excellent mineral glass crystal and is warranted for 100 Meters of water resistance (= 328' underwater at 141 PSI of pressure) good for Surfing/Snorkeling/Spear Fishing. I'm too old for such effort, but will enjoy my Seiko Essentials watch at dinners with my friends. My highest recommendation, buy with confidence. JCH

This is a very attractive watch, the face and body look and feel great, the green face with gold accents are subtle but not bland, the only thing that is a little disappointing is the watch face is much much darker in person than pictured, outside of direct sunlight it's almost black, it still looks great but the images online are a little misleading. The band is great, not super premium feeling but still very good quality and looks great in person, very comfortable as well. I set the time when I received it a few weeks ago and no noticeable loss or gain in time and I have no reason to suspect this movement would be unreliable in the long term, obviously I'll adjust this review if that changes. For 150$ at the time of writing this you get a beautiful watch that has a nice band, 100 meters water resistence, a saphire crystal, and a nice solar powered quartz movement, a great deal in my book.

I bought this for our 27th anniversary and he loves it! Not only is it beautiful, it's heavy and good quality, it's keeping the time perfectly too.

I purchased this watch as a gift to my personal taxi driver in Laos. He loves the watch and wears it all the time. He said this is probably his first legit Seiko watch in his life. I have him on Facebook and see that he wears it a lot to special occasions and walks.

The looks of this watch is stunning and real nice. It came already with the correct date and time. This green emerald is beautiful and the size is bit smaller for my liking but still looks good. It was worthy purchase! My 2nd seiko

Me encanto, el fondo es verde pero el tono es mucho mejor que el de las fotos, se ve precioso el reloj, ojala dure, no evaluo calidad, por que apenas me acaba de llegar, veremos si dura funcionando y si el cristal no se raya tan rapido. Pero a primer vistazo lo super recomiendo, me encanto el verde.
