Coconut Popcorn Popping Oil (Single Gallon)

I first got this stuff during lockdown, because I wanted to have proper popcorn when watching my movies at home. I've continued to get this ever since.The smell of it in my popper is enough to get my teenagers to crawl out of their rooms and be social for a bit. It's easy to measure out, there's a LOT of it in the jar, and it's definitely a quality product. It quickly melts and keeps the popcorn from burning. 10/10

I have been making movie style popcorn for a bit over a year, complete with a stovetop popcorn maker and Flavacol butter flavored popcorn salt. I had been buying quart jars of butter flavored coconut oil but it wasn't economical for as much popcorn as I've been making so I bought this gallon size jar instead. Unfortunately this is just colored coconut oil with no butter flavor but since I'm using butter flavored popcorn salt, the lack of butter flavor in the oil isn't that noticeable. Other brands were available in gallons, with butter flavor, but they were considerably more pricey. I bought graduated 150ml syringes to measure out the liquid oil from the jar. I use between 90-100 ml and half a tablespoon of Flavacol, with half a cup of popcorn kernels.

I love cooking with this oil! I stopped using seed oils and cooked exclusively with this oil. In my case my cholesterol dropped 23 points!

If your not popping your corn in coconut oil your doing it wrong! LOL. I find these gallon jugs all work well for my popper. Only option is do you want the colored stuff or white. I am sure there are better quality options out there but for this price I have been very happy. No damage in shipping this time around too!

What's poppin' ya'll? My popcorn that's what. First, I want to note that this does not have any butter flavor to it, so if that's what you're looking for, this ain't it. But if you're just looking for something reasonably priced that will last you a long time to pop some corn this might do the trick for ya. I use it in an electric stirring popcorn maker and it works just fine for my needs. I like to chunk it out and just plop the oil blobs down into the bottom stirring part of my machine along with the kernels and flavacol stuff and let it work its magic. I do like this for the price, however, I do miss that little bit of extra somethin' somethin' the butter flavored options offer.

i bought it by election after reading reviews of many brands of oil for poppersI am very glad with this purchaseI watch videos daily and as such, popcorn is a mandatory snack .here is my way way of getting the most of it while cooking.PREHEAT THE POPPER for 5 minutes ( I use a stirring popper ) then turn it off.spread the kennels of your favorite brand uniformly making sure not to overcrowd the heating surface of the popper.an Asian soup spoon is what I use to pour 2.1/2 of liquid coconut oil over all the kennels (caution: do not exceed over 3 spoons!)then put the popper cover and turn it on.soon, the popcorn will be ready, immediately shake the salt over all the popcorn while it is hot.flavacol is nice salt with its own flavor but I do not find wrong to use table salt.the choice is yours.JULY 25 2018those words movie theater, butter smelling and taste were used constantly for comparision purposes.i state now that this coconut oil along the salt makes fresh pop corn very delicious.i do NOT need the movie theater style and much less the butter taste!this coconut oil is enough and salt strenghts the flavorfreshly cooked pop corn is mandatory if you want the best.

I used this type of popcorn oil for several years and then I wasn't able to get it during COVID. I tried natural coconut oil and even a brand that said it was butter flavored. Recently I was able to get this oil again and I am back enjoying theater popcorn at home. For the uninitiated, you also need Flavacol Popcorn Salt to achieve the theater popcorn experience.

As a connoisseur of movie popcorn, I did a little research into making movie theater popcorn at home since the theaters are no more. Two tbsp. of this oil, one tsp. of flavacol salt (sold on Amazon) and 1/2 cup of any popcorn makes the perfect portion for two. The taste is out of this world and even better than the theater because it's popped fresh and hot at home. This is a huge jar so it will make tons of delicious, yellow colored popcorn without that oily, vegetable oil taste.Anyone who regularly uses microwave popcorn knows that as it cools down, it starts to get a gross, chemical taste and soggy texture. Not so with this duo of products. It stays tasty and crunchy to the last kernel, just like eating out of the bucket.So fire up Netflix, gather the family around and enjoy!
