Fountain Pen, Preppy, Fine Nib, Blue Black (1716032.0)

This fountain pen write very smooth for a fine nib. It doesn’t bleed to much since it’s a fine nib. You do feel the scratches if you press down to hard. The body is a hard plastic. When you uncap and cap it, there is a clicking mechanism to confirm the cap is moving. For a cheap fountain pen, I think it’s worth it.

Not a fancy pen, but a great first fountain pen if you want to try it out. The pen is well balanced and easy to write with. The ink dries reasonably quickly and it’s a pretty rich deep blue. I definitely recommend this pen.

The Platinum Preppy fountain pens are hands down the best quality for the money. Nothing even comes close! It's really insane how a -10$ pen out-writes $100+ pens. It may look basic and plain, but it makes up for it with the best writing/ drawing capabilities around. This 02 will allow me to have so much versatility when I'm drawing small objects or thin lines. Buy it, you will not regret it. (I have not been paid or anything to write this, I used my own money to buy the pen. This is my 2nd one lol)

I bought the Platinum Preppy and the recommendation of google searching and watching YouTube videos. I was looking for a cheap entry level pen that my heart wouldn't break if it disappeared. The Preppy is a decent enough pen, writes well but feels very very cheap. For the sake of comparison and contrast, have a Pilot Varsity as well. The fit and finish of the varsity feels much better. The Pilot Varsity is a disposable Pen where the Preppy is refillable. The pilot Varsity is refillable with a little bit of work and a refilling hack that can be found on YouTube. It is not the easiest thing to do but I would rather do that then wait for the ink in the Preppy next time I have to refill. Additionally, it took over an hour for the ink to make it to the nib. Maybe a fluke on mine, maybe not. As a caveat, I am left-handed so sometimes I have issues with ink flowing and scratching, but I feel this was different. Again, as a comparison, I have not had any issues with my Lamy Al-sport (no surprise) or my Pilot Varsity with ink flow. Ink Cartridge rattles in the barrel, which seems like a design flaw to me. It isn't bad unless you move the pen around a lot or write quickly. All in all, I wouldn't buy it again, maybe mine just is a fluke. I am new to fountain pens so I am still learning about the nib sizes, how ink flows and other factors. What I enjoy about fountain pens is the enriched writing experience over Gel pens, Roller balls etc. I now truly enjoy writing since I make the switch. The Preppy does not give me the same joy in writing that my Lamy or even my pilot gives me. On the bright side, the preppy comes in a lot of colors, nib options and they are relatively cheap. If you are curious, like I was, make the jump and try it, it won't break the bank. Hope this helps you in your pen selection journey.

I like how ink flows from the first stroke. No pressing hard. Good laying down ink. A little scratchy, but an overall joy to write with. I bought a converter to have my own ink color next time.

These are such great pens and for the price! It has been the best stationary purchase I have made in a long time. It doesn't smudge and dries super quick. Light weight. The only thin I would wish is for it to be a little more comfortable to hold as it's a straight hard plastic body. Maybe a little more curve as to where my pencil callus is on my finger lol Also great for journal as it doesn't bleed onto the next page at all and it's fine and easy to you. Great entry pen to fountain pens and an amazing everyday pen too!

Living in a small apartment means I need products that don’t take up too much room, and this one is ideal! It’s compact but still has all the functions I need—no need to sacrifice usability for size. I can store it in a drawer when it’s not in use, and it’s light enough to grab quickly when I need it. It works just as well as bulkier options I’ve tried before, but without the clutter. If you’re short on space, this is a game-changer.

This is my first fountain, got it at Rs 420. Writing experience is the best amongst the handful of pens I have tried. Plastic body is delicate. Smooth ink flow. Grip is flat. Nice product you can go for it.

É excelente em termos de grafia, pois de escrita fina e elegante, também é bastante macia, e só acasionalmente bloqueia a tinta na pena, bem diferente de outras de preço similar. Também é possível recarregar a bombinha com tinta de qualidade e reutilizar por inúmeras vezes. Parabéns ao fabricante e ao vendedor. Produto de qualidade e ótimo preço, embora de design simples, porém moderno. Além do mais é possível reutilizá-la,quando a tinta acabar. Basta comprar um frasco de tinta adequada e encher a bombinha e a caneta estará pronta para usar novamente.
