Darco Med-Surg Shoe Black Square-Toe Men's, X-Large, 0.85 Pound

I order this shoe about once a year for a friend. He is disabled and this shoe works very well for him. He only wears it on one foot, with a regular shoe on the other. It lasts him about a year before he wears it out, and then he has me order him a new one. Very supportive shoe for a big guy.

This is a very nice surgical shoe that was perfect for an injury I had on the ball of my foot at my pressure point that required a foot doctor to get involved. It help really well to keep the injury area from having too much pressure from when I walked on it. It is very important that you get the DARCO INSOLE SYSTEM which is a "filler" that is used as an insole in the shoe. You just pop out the little black rubber blocks so that the injury area does not make contact with the bottom of the shoe. Believe me, this Darco Product works and is well made for the intended use.

This is a great shoe, unfortunately I was not able to use it for the purpose I ordered it for! My Foot Dr recommended it but being handicapped on both feet it was heavier than I could carry. I contacted customer service, and they refunded my money immediately and wanted to know if anything else they could help me with. I’m giving 5 stars mainly for customer service but I believe the shoe is great quality to!

MY HUSBAND HAD SURGERY ON HIS FOOT AND HE WORE OUT THE ONE HIS DOCTOR PUT HIM IN, THIS ONE FIT PERFECT AND WAS THE SAME ONE HIS DOCTOR GAVE HIM AND WAS A LOT CHEAPER!

Very difficult to walk in , evan short distance. not secure enough

These may be necessary for patients that have had foot surgery and rods protruding from their feet, but for any other situation, do not buy them. I have lymphedema and need to have compression bandages on my feet and legs so regular shoes will not work. I bought a pair of these shoes and found them extremely cumbersome and very uncomfortable. They are essentially flat plastic/rubber planks with velcro straps. They offer no support and are next to impossible to put on by yourself. I wore them for a total of 6 hours and had to return them because they were making my feet hurt badly. I not only had to pay for the return shipping, but the company only refunded me for one shoe, stating that the other was too badly damaged. Both were identical in appearance when they were sent back, both were barely used, but I guess there is no recourse. Not happy with the product or the company they came from.

Great shoe. Good price. Surgery center wanted $40 for same shoe.
