Better as an all purpose active sock than for running
We bought these socks for track/cross country season to use as running socks.Pros* Thick with has extra padding on ball of foot, heel and achilles area for hiking, running etc, however, not too thick to be comfortable worn in snug fitting shoes.* Good arch support* Very good elastic with snug fit prevent them form slippingCons* If you sweat heavily, these are definitely not for you. They do a great job of keeping your feet dry as long as you aren't sweating heavily but the extra padding almost feels saturated at times.* If you dry them in your dryer regularly, they will lose their elasticity much quicker, although that can easily be fixed by air drying them.* Fit slightly smaller than expectedOverall, this was a good sock but not for anyone who sweats heavily. Also, I think these would be better for activities such as hiking or for someone who works on their feet all day etc rather than running.

My go-to running sock
I initially started buying these socks just for general working out. They're comfortable if you're doing high intensity circuit training, and your feet won't slide around. Later I started running and especially loved these socks on the road and the trail. I had heard Smartwool is the definitive brand for running socks, so I bought a more expensive pair of those and tested them out on a 13 mile trail run, but found that they kept sliding below my feet. I had to stop constantly, unlace my shoe, and put the sock back. I wound up with blisters on my heels from the slippage. The next two weeks I did similar runs sometimes in the rain and mud, with the Wigwams, and there was no slippage or blisters, and my feet weren't screaming for a pair of fresh socks when I was done. I haven't tested these above 15 miles, but I'll definitely be sticking with this brand.

I expected to like these more - They are fine, but there are better options
I bought this sock along with several others when I wanted to figure out the best socks to use for running in the summer. It is really hard to judge socks without wearing them for a long long time to see how they wear. So far I have used these socks 2-3 times, and they are okay. I do not have any serious issues with them, but I just don't like them for some reason. Even though they are ventilated, they seem warmer than my other ventilated running socks. I don't feel as comfortable in them as I expected when I get them in my shoe. I cannot really put my finger on what I don't like. It may be the material which seems denser and more insulating or something.. I am not really sure. The first time I was tired and it was very warm out (my feet felt really hot), so I thought maybe it was not a good test. I wore them two other times in different conditions, and I still felt like they were not as good as my other socksI like wigwam as a brand because they had a manufacturing facility in the city where I grew up and my mom used to work there. They always had quality products in my history with using them. These are my first running socks from them (along with some Cool Lite Pro socks that I also bought at the same time) and the quality still seems pretty good. Unfortunately I just do not like them very much. I definitely liked both the Thorlo unisex Experia CoolMax Micro sock and the Balega Enduro Quarter lengh socks even better. The Thorlo are now my go to running sock. The Balegas are also very good and cost less. The other wigwam socks I mentioned above I also liked better although not as much as the Thorlo or Balega. The verdict is still out on longevity for all of the socks I bought, but I did purchase more of the Thorlo despite the additional cost if that says anything to you.

Couch to marathon socks
Running will never be the same again. I did not realize I was running with the wrong socks until I purchased a few pairs of these socks and realized how much better running can be. Seriously, the difference is noticeable from the second you take that first stride until the second you collapse in agony at the end of your run. There is plenty of cushion in the sole that makes it feel like you are running on clouds, soft fluffy cotton candy clouds. Your toes, heels, and arches will thank you. Also, your feet will stay dry, evening running in 85 degree Southern California heat. The bright colors are mostly hidden in your shoe, but what little shows makes the ladies pay attention. That's right, I see them checking out my socks as I run by. Get these socks!

Comfortable, cool and stays in place
I bought these looking for something to keep me cool in a hot, industrial workplace. I wear them under my safety shoes, which is a tough environment to find a good sock for. In the past when I've tried ankle socks they don't stay in place for a full work day, but these have no problem staying in place. Since finding them so comfortable for work, I've started wearing them for hiking as well. Their toughest day hiking was an 11 mile rocky hike to the summit of Mt. San Jacinto and back; they held up well even on this hike and kept my feet cool and sufficiently cushioned. For year 'round use, I'll probably never dispense with my Smartwool hikers, but for hot summertime wear, I've found these incredibly comfortable and durable.

Love these socks for hiking and racing
These are my go-to socks for busy days where I think my feet will sweat. Hiking, long bike rides, running... these are the perfect socks. Also after you get them sweaty, they dry off very quick. Must be some sort of wonder material. For reference, I'm a size 13 (with slightly wide feet), and the Large size fits great. I've had a pair for 1 year, would wear them once per week and they're just starting to wear out.Note that they do fit a bit like a fitted glove. Initially they almost feel like you're putting a slipper on. There's no left-vs-right foot.

Great comfy socks used for running and cycling.
Comfy socks for running and cycling. Fit as expected (already owned a pair of same size). No discomfort when jogging 5 - 10 km or cycling with clip in shoes. Good quality material and section on back of heel prevents rubbing on shoes. Will be buying more when my current ones wear out. Definitely better than standard ankle sports socks.
