First I will say that all of my outdoor power equipment is Echo brand; string trimmer, leave blower, chainsaw, and hedge trimmer. Echo has worked very well for me for many years and I could not be happier with Echo quality. That said, I could not see paying $800+ for an Echo pole saw that I will not use nearly as often as my other poutdoor power equipment. So far I feel I made the right choice buying this saw. The saw starts right up with no issues and has more than enough power for the toughest job. I just finished trimming more than a dozen trees on my 11 acre farm with no problems. If you know how to operate and maintain your outdoor power equipment this saw should last fine for the average homeowner who uses it only a few times per year. As for the downside, there are a few issues that need to be mentioned. First, the manual that comes with the saw is worthless. The manual focuses on how to use a pole saw instead of how to assemble and operate this saw. There is no parts list in the manual so I'm not sure how a person can buy replacement parts. Hopefully the seller has spare parts available or I can find them online when needed. The manual does not specify the mix ration for fuel/oil. There was a tag on the gas tank that stated the mix ratio was 25:1 or 30:1. I went with 30:1 and so far it works well. Another downside is the weight of the saw. The saw is made to be as light as possible but given the size of the engine there is no way around the weight issue. The shoulder strap that comes with the saw is a waste as it digs into your shoulder. I spent $40 and bought a very well made Stihl shoulder harness that is well padded and has double shoulder straps. I recommend this type of harness for any pole saw as it distributes the weight well and does not dig into your shoulders Overall I am very satisfied and could not be happier with my purchase. After more than 5 years and a lot of use it still works well. Could not be more satisfied. Highly recommended. Customer service is excellent for obtaining repair parts.

Purchased this pole saw as an alternative to brand name saws costing 2 to 3 times as much. I have used the saw moderately on my farm to clear out overhanging tree limbs on fence rows. Mine starts right up without any issues. It is a 50:1 fuel mix which matched my Stihl saws. I have been pleased with the performance of the saw, but would rate the saw as a residential grade saw not a commercial grade. I’ve had a few issues with bolts vibrating loose more than once. An example of this would be the 2 bolts that hold on the bar oil tank on the saw head vibrated loose. I was able to get new metric bolts at the hardware store very easily. I used loctite to prevent the bolts from vibrating loose again. Just aggravating that the bolts backed out while I was in the middle of a job. I had to stop because the oil tank came loose. I have also needed a replace the driveshaft to the saw head because the drive shaft sheared off (see picture). I would rate the service and parts availability more than excellent. I was able to email Martina at Maxtra. She has been very helpful. I have been able to get parts ordered and sent to me by FedEx within a few days. Performance, parts availability, and service are a 5 star rating. Quality and assembly are 3 stars. Overall, I give the pole saw a 4 star rating. Check bolt tightness and have loctite available. I would purchase the saw again.
