Best AEG out there!!,
23 of 24 people found the following review helpful 5.0 out of 5 stars Best AEG out there!!, April 14, 2011 By H. Han - See all my reviews (REAL NAME) This review is from: Soft Air Kalishnikov Tactical AK47 Electric Powered Airsoft Rifle (Sports) This airsoft gun is hands down the best airsoft AEG out there! Like its real world counterpart, this full metal AK-47 showcases the best qualities that makes a good airsoft gun: accurate, high-powered, reliable, excellent construction and inexpensive. ================= Accuracy: Out of the box, this gun is fairly accurate, although the inner bore is something around 6.08 mm (which is a fairly loose tolerance for high-end airsoft guns). Coming from a sniper platform, where I'm used to the BB flying to precisely where the crosshairs are lined up at 200 feet, this tolerance was not okay for me. I'm really keen on exact precision - anyone else who doesn't need exact precision will be perfectly happy with the stock inner barrel since you can just spray a narrow cone of bullets at 600 rpm. Also, most AEGs will come with an inner bore around 6.05mm to 6.10mm - it's not just this gun, it's almost any gun. For me, all I had to do was get a 6.01 mm tight bore [...] [...] for $[...] and 30 minutes of install later, this gun was firing BBs at 600 rounds per minute with the same precision as my L96A1 sniper with a 150 foot range! In addition, you will find that pound for pound, the AK-47 rifles with the 455 mm long inner barrel will do significantly better than any M4 or AK74s out there. Why? The M4s all have a 363 mm inner barrel, which is under the minimum of 400 mm necessary for the BBs to have truly stabilized their flight path. You will see that with the same inner barrel inner diameter, the AK-47 will fire significantly better groupings than its M4 counterpart. M16s do just fine against the AK, but you'll have to spend at least $[...] for just the gun and then $[...] for the inner barrel upgrade. Why pay for more? High-power: This AEG fires near the maximum allowable speed for airsoft skirmishes straight out of the box: nearly 400 FPS. It has the same range as my former AGM MP001 sniper and with the tight-bore upgrade, the BBs fly even a little faster as less air leaks out around the BB! You can't really upgrade this gun unless you want to risk being disqualified at airsoft events with a M120 spring. Reliable

Top Notch
Don't let the fact that this gun is made in China fool you. In fact the only downside I've seen with this is the big ugly red sticker they put on the rear of the gun (hard to remove). It's made by Cybergun/Softair. It's full metal and has a metal gearbox and also HEAVY and solid. The only plastic parts are the stock and the magazine but they are durable enough. It shoots very well hard and fast. It has a good ROF and FPS is excellent. I use .25g BB's which improve the accuracy. The front and rear sights may need some adjustment but they give you a key to adjust them. Once thats done it is extremely accurate. I mounted a 9 x 32 scope but needed an extension riser to bring the eye relief closer to me. The problem being the rails are mounted towards the front half of the gun only because the battery cover is in the top rear. It was not an issue with the riser extension which bring the rails over the top of the battery cover. The battery will take some getting used to putting in. Its a tight fit and the cover is hard to line up at first. The folding stock folds over the safety selector switch making it a pain to switch back and forth. All in all I'm still giving the gun 5 stars because it really is an amazing gun at a great price.

Gun looks great, works horribly
So first off I wanna say this gun looks amazing. It feels real, really good weight and sturdiness. But thats about where it ends for me. The instruction manual was one of the least explanatory things id ever seen. The mechanism to get into the battery is very difficult to get back on. But the worst was the actual battery. It was not explained at all how to use it, and I had to watch the linked video on here in order to figure it out. It says to push the connecting piece and wires into the gun, but mine wouldnt move in. When I finally was able to jam it all in, the gun would make the sound I expected, so I could tell the battery worked. However the gun wouldnt shoot. No matter what I did the gun wouldnt shoot. Idk, maybe it was just a defective battery or something. (If the battery would work better the gun would be an easy 5 stars btw)

Fantastic gun, with only a couple of tiny quirks
To clarify, for functional purposes this is a 5-star gun. It is accurate at a distance, relatively quiet, a very high rate of fire and heavy duty. So why the 4-star rating? Well, I'm obsessive-compulsive. So here is my nit-picky review: 1. The sight post assembly: I had to return my first one first one because it had a pretty canted front sight post. Unfortunately, the bottom screw that holds it to the barrel was stripped so I tried to jimmy it (with a large amount of force; this is NOT fragile) and the screw snapped. Luckily Amazon has a great return policy. The replacement was still a little canted but not nearly as bad. The screw at the bottom was just as stripped but even if it wasn't, the only way to adjust the post would be to drill a new hole in the outer barrel without puncturing the more fragile inner barrel (a task I would trust very few with). In my case, the difference on the new rifle was so small that I would just end up making a wider hole and have a loose front post. So you might ask why bother with the post at all? If you can remove it, just get rid of it, buy a new front sight, and put it on the top rail. Well the entire post assembly includes the post, as well as the tip where you can attach mock silencers, etc. So when the post is removed it exposes the inner barrel which actually relies on the post to keep it level and steady. Moral of the story is: just like buying a real AK-47, you might get a canted front post. Now despite this, the gun is still very accurate. If you just forget about the sight and aim the barrel at your target, you WILL hit it. Sat on my porch and hit a small 2ft x 1.5ft sign that was a good 30-40 yards away easily even while using .12 biodegradable ammo (which theoretically are less reliable since the softer pellets tend to have gashes which would cause the BB to spin off-kilter). Even in full-auto, all my shots landed. So why whine about the post at all? Because any shooter will tell you that to make precision shots, you have to keep your eyes on the sights, and I don't like the idea of developing bad habits. 2.The battery: this thing can be a pain to install the battery the first few times. You have to lay it on it's side but the wires have to be shoved into the main body of you want to put the cover back on. Now, after being badly shocked as a child for shoving wires deeper into an assembly, I'm very tentative about doing this. Ironically though, the solution to this is buying an extra battery that has longer, more flexible cables. I bought a 8.4NiMH 1600mAh 1.2V Valken stick which ended up having wires which were much easier to stow, plus it lasts longer than the one that comes stock with the gun. 3. Front Grip: To put it simply, it's just crap. Very loose, so I just removed it. Ok, so that is all the problems that I have experienced with it. So why should you buy it. 1. Price: I bought this on sale for $130. It is the only AEG available that has a fully metal body as well as the gearbox that was under $200. Which leads me to the next point: 2. Durability: I know I said I broke the front sight post, but I am a grown man and had to use vice grips to torque it, which goes outside the realms of "Normal Wear-and-Tear". This gun is very durable and, unless you're belly flopping onto concrete, should stand up to plenty of abuse. 3. The Deal: This probably seems redundant since I mentioned price, but trust me, it deserves it's own point. As mentioned, this is the only reliable AEG that is fully metal and under $200. Compare it to the G&G CM16 Raider that is going for $150-200. The Raider is an M4 that is reported as being very durable with its polymer frame and metal gearbox. But when you buy the Raider, that is all you get. You have to buy the battery and charger seperately. This can cost an extra $30 if you want to a good charger that has all the safety sensors (something I recommend buying eventually anyway). This AK is field ready right out of the box(after charging, of course). It comes standard with a battery and a basic charger. It also comes with 2 high-capacity magazines, a strap, and the aforementioned crappy foregrip. So this gun is a great deal. Now I have seen a lot of people asking about removing the orange tip. You can break it off, but I recommend using vice grips to twist it off and keep it intact as much as possible. I play in the woods, so an orange tip will ruin the best camouflage, and I understand the frustration of the safety tip. I also know that those tips are there for a reason and that people have been regretfully shot people for much less. So my solution is to keep the tip for when I'm not on the field. Once I get to a private field, I store the tip in my bag and go have some fun. Also, removing the tip does reveal threading for mock flash suppressors and silencers, but I don't have the tool to measure threading, unfortunately, so I can't tell you the exact type.

Initial Review
Just received the item today , very fast , earlier than what has estimated, just ordered on the 7th and it arrived on the 9th boy that's fast. I immediately looked at it , good packaging, box is neat and professionally packed. I tested with my chrono it shoots around 383 on 0.20 gram bbs and its on the range what it says, although I have to adjust the hop up. The battery cover is a bit pain on the neck to put it back but after I ve asked my friend who worked in the airforce he showed me how easy it is. Just push the cover all the way while you are trying to snap it and lock it as it says in the instruction sheet. Also the folding stock its easy just follow the instruction sheet , try to push down the stock while you are turning it to fold it. I ll try and play it on the game site and see what does this gun do. But by the looks of it . Looks neat and cool , although I m afraid the paint job may not that good it may get easily chip off just like any other gun with black paint, anyways if that would happen I ll do some painting camo myself . I ll update you more guys after I have tried it at the battlefield or game site. Really I have a good first impression the packaging, the accessories it has for the price I paid, I would say its worth your money ... Its early to say but I felt good with this gun. I would recommend this to a friend. Just read the instruction and you would find it easy to do the cover and folding stock which I see some comments on the other buyers.

Beautiful Airsoft gun
Beautiful Airsoft gun. Easy to follow instructions. Battery is easy to charge and the gun is fun to shoot. I purchased this to gun to use with my grandson and I have not been disappointer. The magazines can be a bit tricky when loading and tightening the bullets, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes a matter of routine. The battery take a while to charge so I recommend a back up battery which are readily available. Gun is very accurate and is certainly powerful enough to do all my grandson and I desire. I must say the gun is extremely realistic. The orange tip is a must so folk know this is not a real weapon. The only downside I have found is the battery wires are somewhat awkward when trying to secure the battery. I have concern about the durability, but overall, this is a super gun. I highly recommend.

good for the peice, but PLASTIC RECEIVER.
While the AK is pretty good, I'd like to note that the receiver is NOT metal, at all. The BOLT COVER is metal. The bolt cover is NOT part of the receiver. The receiver itself is PLASTIC, which I did not expect, as somewhere in the description it did mention metal upper receiver, and the full (real wood) stock, branded to be the same, is full metal. As the AK does not have two receiver parts, I found this to be misleading. Good things about the gun: It does shoot very well. It is accurate. It has a full metal interior, I found this out while disassembling. The parts are high quality. The rifle is a great model to buy, no matter the interest or skill level. From backyard skirmishes to actual gameplay, this AK is a very good buy. New to the game, or if you've been playing for years like me, it's a solid gun for the price. The bad about the gun: The plastic receiver is a huge downside for me, personally. However, it is a good thing for younger players who can't carry a heavy gun for too long, and those who play cqb. Another thing I found quite annoying is that the receiver is more or less fixed to only accept the FOLDING STOCK. Again, not a huge drawback for cqb players. I have both the wood and the folding variants, and they were not swappable. Trust me, I just spend 45 minutes disassembling the gun to try to make it work. Another somewhat bad thing is this particular gun shoots at a very high 460-480. The box says 495, and I am not unhappy with the advertized vs actual, but a high fps means it will not be allowed into a cqb arena without downgrades to make it legal. (a gun with too high an fps will not be allowed in certain locations, including most indoor arenas). If you're playing outside, in an area that allows a high fps, this gun is perfect for the money. One final downside is is that it is VERY difficult to reassemble after being fully disassembled. Most AK models are easier to reassemble than this specific model. All in all, this is a great gun, with a few minor drawbacks. The reason this review is 3 stars rather than 4 or 5 is because I personally am not a fan of plastic body parts, and the fact that it is not easy to upgrade and reassemble.
