Description is confusing...how many ounces is this for? Is it actually only $0.10 an ounce, making it $1.60 for a 16oz can?

I'm sorry about the confusion! That could end up to be a question for Amazon or the manufacturer, since the wording is used for all of us selling the same product. However, my guess is that it could be less than $.10 a cup of hot chocolate you are making (including the water added). The label says the 16 ounce container makes 11 servings (one serving being an 8 ounce cup) and the current price is less than $10 for the container, that would make the price per ounce $.11 ($10/11/8=$.11). Thank you for taking me back to my school days of math! It's been a while! I truly hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving!

Can this be mixed with water?

Yes. The primary instructions are to mix with water. The instructions say for an extra creamy taste mix with milk. I personally always use milk because I likethat taste. Bt mixing with water is also fine. I LOVE the Stephens Cocoa products!!!

Does this product contain red food dye 40?

Yes, it has red 40 and red 3 in it. Hope that helps :)
