**Q: Does the shielding have to be grounded inside of guitar?**
A: I think so. the braided shielding on all wires in my guitar is grounded at some point. Either way, I used the braided shield as a ground lead and the main wire inside to connect to lugs on pots and jacks. Hope that helps
