World Class Manufacturing

This book was first given to me 30 years ago by the VP of Manufacturing for a prominent Japanese Automaker. It proved to be very helpful back then. Much of this knowledge has "exported" and become extinct over the last 20 years thanks to progressive trade policies. Schoenberger's principles remain relevant as American manufacturing reinvents itself for the future.

The book comes out of the writer's personal experience. Though it is not written with academic rigor, it is clear and understandable. The book is written in a very lively style using examples from the real business life. The fact that the book was wtitten more than 30 years ago does not reduce its value to today's reader.

This is THE classic Continuous Improvement text. Schoneberger laid out Lean and Six-Sigma way ahead of it becoming popular. Easy to read, great diagrams and examples.

This is a great guideline. It has covered some basics which are very important and which we tend to forget
