The first film has a more simple plot line than the sequel, both films are extremely violent and full of murder. The first film takes place primarily in a single location, which is Kirsty Cotton's new family home. Her uncle Frank gets resurrected from hell and terrorizes Kirsty and her father Larry. The second film takes place in a mental hospital where Kirsty has been placed in. The evil doctor who runs the hospital resurrects Julia (Larry's wife) who terrorizes everyone in the mental hospital, including Kirsty. I give this film a thumb up and five stars for its originality and captivating visuals. Very well done by creator/director Clive Barker and director Tony Randel.

Pinhead
Creepy, but so effective and now such a cult classic, a horror classic, that it was only an honor to name the dog after none other than Pinhead himself. Lots of great make up. I liked the first one the best.

The best two...
The first and the second movies are the best movies in the franchise... especially the first one. They don't look particularly bad for their age, and the price is good too.

Great movies, very strange that there are no subtitles available on the discs.

Classic Masterpieces of Horror
I haven't seen these two movies in a while but they still stand up (better than) to any horror/slasher movies released today or in the past.. They are amazing in the story line and the effects (prior to CGI). I find Hellbound the better of the two but Hellraiser is a classic. I am not going to go over the plots of both since this has been discussed extensively. They are classy, gory movies which rise above the rest. If you find blood and gore disturbing then I would not recommend these movies. IF like me you enjoy good horror that is innovative and disturbing then these are for you. The transfer to Blu-ray is just OK.

De lo mas imaginativo en el cine de terror de los 80's las dos primeras películas de la saga"Hellraiser"son por mucho las mejores. Y que bueno que son tan buenas,porque esta edición con ambas vale su compra por ellas solas,ya que no trae ni material extra ni subtitulos

Classic horror newly defined at the time by the master Clive Barker himself based on his Books of Blood stories. A different twist for the genre that will be immediately unsettling for the uninitiated. They hold up pretty well considering the age, the effects were top-notch at the time and it shows. Sit back and enjoy but don't get too comfortable, there's more where this came from.

El "casi" es, obviamente, porque no tiene subtítulos de ningún tipo, no otro idioma mas que el original, Inglés, pero como todo fan, que las busca hasta el fin del mundo, tenerlas es una bendición. Así que si se te da el inglés, y eres fan del género, es un recomendado en extremo.

This is so dated - it's worth watching to see the 80's hairstyles! A bit of gore, silicone body parts and lots of strawberry jam go to make this a wonderfully dated and funny film.

A pesar que Hellraiser es un clásico y que esta edición acompaña la segunda parte (la segunda mejor de la saga), debido a que las películas comparten el disco, la imagen y sonido se comprometen un poco. Las películas no cuentan con material adicional o subtítulos.
